That would be great, but he knows he's worth more then a vet minimum. Even if that means playing for a contender. He will get top dollar on the open market

I don't think so. I mean yea he'll definitely get more then the vet minimum, but I don't see more then a Bobby Williams type deal from any team worth his time.

He was on Inside the NFL a couple weeks ago and he kind of hinted that he'd love to play for Harbs. I think he mentioned wanting to play for a contender and at 33 years old, he knows it time is all but up. I can't see him getting top dollar from a contender. Not sure he'd return to the Pats, so Dean Pees would be next in line.

I think McBean would be a better option moving forward because he's a few years younger, but Seymour might have a Trevor Pryce/Corey Redding type impact to this young defense.

How would u feel about bringing in Richard Seymour at the vet minimum. Ngata and Jones would still be your starters, Seymour could rotate at the 3 and 5, not to mention he could slid inside in sub packages. I would like to see Mcphee drop some weight and go back to focusing on getting after the QB, instead of being a everydown player. I like his value as a specialist in sub packages.

I like our young DLmen and would even like McBean to return. I feel Art is coming into his own at the 5 tech and feel he should be the starter going into next season. However if McBean doesn't return and a impact rookie isn't drafted, I think Richard Seymour could be a cheap role player looking to finish his career with a champion.

Yeah, Seymour would be a nice pick-up. If he comes cheap, I see no reason why we couldn't pick him up.

I am with you. We rarely heard of him this year as his production drastically slipped; however, I know he was dealing with some injuries and having mediocre help next to him in Cody and Kemo, as well as issues with McPhee, greatly influences an objective evaluation of him. Unfourtunately, the question of motivation came up, too. Why should we have to motivate a professional who is getting so much money? Isn't he the highest paid Raven?
Wow. Motivation? You think going out there with a sprained MCL and various other dings brings up questions of his integrity?

So what if you didn't hear his name a lot. Do you think he was laying back and resting while getting beat on by two offensive linemen just about every play? He may not have been at his usual pro bowl level, but what heart he showed battling the entire year. Motivation? smh

I tell you. If this would happen I would be extremely happy, but at what price? He has enough gas left in the tank to be effective for 2 more years.

The issue of motivation was brought up nationally, for example on NFL Network, and on this board. I am not talking about motivation when he sprained his knee in the Super Bowl, but rather at different times during the season.

Yeah, I heard it. I also heard on these boards and nationally in the media that Flacco was a sub par QB and would never win a SB. Truth? Speculation and the twisting of facts by the media to create stories happens everyday, all day in all walks of life. Do you believe all that you hear and read?

Haloti played with an MCL sprain, same knee, for most of the year, it didn't just happen in the SB.

I think motivation for Ngata is an issue, but you may disagree. I believe he is the highest player on the team. So next year there ought to be no injury excuses for him. It is his job to stay healthy the best he can.
Lastly, look at the film, he was not constently double teamed this past season.
We need Ngata at 100%, after all, he is getting paid hansomely.

Lmao you used NFL Network and this board as examples for a source. Good one!

Motivation an issue? Haha! Dude had a sprained MCL practically all season! Not to mention he had a few shoulder injuries too. Are you kidding me dude?

Really? Ngata is a consummate professional. The injuries Ngata's sustained have nothing to do with conditioning so this argument is nonsense. The question of motivation comes into play when asking how much longer Ngata wants to suit up. He's the type of guy who's going to give it his all every down, he just doesn't know if he wants to sign another contract given all the things coming to light about head injuries and their impact on your later life. Some of these fans man... entitlement is an ugly thing.

It is not a coincidence that these injuries started happening when we cut Gregg. Cody isn't half the NT Gregg was from a production standpoint and it's allowing offensive lines to tee Ngata up. He's trying to compensate by overexerting himself and the result has been a series of nagging injuries. Get an NT, see Ngata return to dominance.
