Not Ngata's Knee!

41 posts in this topic

I know we are all celebrating our great Superbowl victory but is anyone worried about Ngata's knee? We don't know anything about the extent of the injury and probably won't for at least a few days but I can't be the only one who is thinking about it during this time of celebration...

I'm really getting worried about Ngata's long-term health & future here in Baltimore. I love Ngata, but he's been banged up for the past two years now. On top of him saying he might have to retire early, I think there's a distinct possibility this could be a problem for us going forward. I know Ngata's a potential restructure, but his injuries are mounting and I am afraid of restructuring him.

Heal it up..and get back to training, he was a MAJOR disappointment this year.
I love the big guy, and thats why ive been soo critical. He needs to find a way to geth healthy or we've already seen the best of Haloti Ngata.

Let me get into my best Christian Bale Batman voice: "We haven't seen the best of Haloti Ngata...Not yet." I'm worried too because I remember this being a problem with Kelly Gregg, but I think Ngata takes conditioning more seriously. He didn't disappoint me in the games this year. He helped contain Capricorn and whenever he got his mits around a running back in Denver and NE, they weren't going anywhere. But it is something to worry about. Right now, I'm in celebratory mode.

Just saw a report that he's been jogging after the game. Great news.

Now rest up and get ready for another run.

This is one that has me worried. Not about the actual knee injury, but you listen to how Ngata was talking leading up to the game I wonder how much longer he'll want to play. He was talking about injury and family and wanting to live a healthy life after football and being their for his kids (TOTALLY understandable). Now he has a SB ring (the dream of every guy who plays).

I would not be totally surprised if he decides not to come back. I just have a weird feeling on this one.

He had an mcl sprain in the beginning of the season, and continued playing. I suspect it's that same knee that's bothering him. Concerned!

I hope physically he is okay, but I'm more worried about him mentally. I don't have a link to it, but I recall him saying recently he was unsure about his future in the NFL. It came after someone asked him about Jr. Seau's suicide.

Guy needs a break! He always plays beat up. I want a 100% healthy Ngata next season, it would be a hug boost for the defense. I remember last year he was a monster. I always recall the way he laid Mendenhall out and forced the fumble in the season opener. Get healthy Haloti!

Next year I would like to see Ngata & Jones as the starting DEs & McPhee rotating with Ngata at RDE & Tyson and another draft pick rotating with Jones. It should lessen Ngata's wear and tear. I think he needs to get healthy and I don't see one offseason doing that.

Please don't post a link without a summary of what it's about. Many people work at places that restrict access to websites and they're all left hanging. Also, it's just plain courteous to let people know up front so they can decide whether or not they want to click.

We. Must. Get. A. Dominant. Nose. Ngata has been getting injured since Gregg left and O-lines have been able to chew him up with chops blocks.

I would've taken loss to the Boys for our guys to stay healthy. That MCL he played through is no joke. With the off season though he won't be able to run he can still lift assuming his shoulder is healed too. I don't think he's injury prone, just bad luck the past 2 years.

I am with you. We rarely heard of him this year as his production drastically slipped; however, I know he was dealing with some injuries and having mediocre help next to him in Cody and Kemo, as well as issues with McPhee, greatly influences an objective evaluation of him. Unfourtunately, the question of motivation came up, too. Why should we have to motivate a professional who is getting so much money? Isn't he the highest paid Raven?

How would u feel about bringing in Richard Seymour at the vet minimum. Ngata and Jones would still be your starters, Seymour could rotate at the 3 and 5, not to mention he could slid inside in sub packages. I would like to see Mcphee drop some weight and go back to focusing on getting after the QB, instead of being a everydown player. I like his value as a specialist in sub packages.

I like our young DLmen and would even like McBean to return. I feel Art is coming into his own at the 5 tech and feel he should be the starter going into next season. However if McBean doesn't return and a impact rookie isn't drafted, I think Richard Seymour could be a cheap role player looking to finish his career with a champion.

That would be great, but he knows he's worth more then a vet minimum. Even if that means playing for a contender. He will get top dollar on the open market
