I'm not going to predict individual players for the draft but some of the teams retentions and losses.
Some of these cuts/losses might be restructed

Losses/Cuts:

Lewis (obviously)
Kruger
Reed (hopefully retirement and not another team)
Kemo
Cary Williams
Mckinnie
Consandine
Birk (cut or Retire)
Bobbie Williams
Boldin (no way they can afford him)
Jacoby Jones (played amazingly but no spare $$)
David Reed
Leach (another possible restructure)
Chris Johnson
Bajema
Mcbean

Retain:
Pitta
Flacco (hopefully something around 16-17mil a season)
Dickson (still not sold on him but he showed up in the SB)
Ellerbe ( good ILB and great at timing his blitzes)
Cox
Ihedigbo
Harewood (depth signing)
Adrian Hamilton
Omar Brown
Anthony Allen (for his ST abilities )

IMO this team will look drastically different.

Now what do I think the biggest needs are?

Dline hands down ( after Ngata went out the niners abused the ravens line)
LT (Oher played good at RT , let him stay there)
ILB (lewis was being abused in coverage)
CB/FS (Depth is needed, as will a starting FS with reed leaving)
WR ( I see boldin and jones being cut for $$ reasons)

I like it, it is going to be a rough offseason and I could see all those players getting cut. Reports are that we are already over the cap, so that means in order to sign Flacco alone we would have to balnce the cap THEN clear up 15-20 million. I hope we can extend Boldin though there were reports last week about us trying to extend Jones but honestly Boldin is the better option. Jones is a great returner...when he is not muffing the damn ball haha, but Boldin is still our number 1 imo. I hope we can atleast resign Boldin, but I think there will be a lot of free agent Ravens this offseason.

Schefter's report about us being over the cap is contradictory to everything else that I've seen. Unless there is some magic money contributing to the cap from somewhere, the numbers appear to give us about $12-13 million in space without signing Flacco, without the money for Lewis' and Birks' retirement adding cap space, and without other cuts/adjustments.

Currently at 109.3m (Listen to bmoreravor, not that idiot Schefter) http://russellstreet...ens-salary-cap/

Release/Retire: Ray Lewis(4.35), Matt Birk(2.05), Bobbie Williams(1.2), Vonta Leach(3.0), Jameel McClain(1.8) = +12.4m

Restructure Suggs(2.73) and Yanda(2.52) = +5.25m

Tender RFA's: Pitta(2nd/2.023m) Art Jones(2nd/2.023m) Dickson(Orig/1.323m) Harewood(Non/630k) David Reed(Non/630k) Morgan Cox(Non/630k) Emmanuel Cook(Non/630k) = -7.89m

Tender ERFA's: McClellan 555k, Allen 555k, Berry 480k, Hall 480k, Bynes 480k, Rainey 480k, Levine 480k = -3.51m

After all that we're sitting at roughly 103.05m

Get Flacco under contract with a cap number of 10m or less for 2013, extend both Boldin and Jones contracts to lower their cap numbers and we could easily have 10m+ to negotiate with Kruger/Reed/Ellerbe

As for your actual off-season, I'm on board with most of it. I don't think we'll need to cut both Jacoby and Q, and we might not have to cut either. Leach won't be cut either. Everything else was spot on, except for the whole illusion that Oher played well, but you're not the only one to fall into that one.

I trust Schefter more than anyone else, 90% of what he reports is valid, or becomes valid via team confirmation. He doest just add up the player salaries and throw out a number and say thats the Ravens 2013 cap number, he talks to team officials and other teams sources to get his information. So right now until the end of the year presser or "state of the Ravens address" where Ozzie, Steve, and John can elaborate on where the Ravens are financially, Im going with Schefter's report. Its better to plan for the worst that way if we are over the cap already we knew it, and if we are at $110M like most sites project than we will feel 10 times better about it.

Adam Schefter typically talks to team sources in order to validate his information. He is an insider who has team contacts for days haha he gets information before anyone else does. Based on that and his resume of uncovering NFL signings and what not its better off to trust him. There are tons of "fan sites" like this one that just add up player salaries and come up with a number and say bam theres the cap. I think its a little more complex than people think, you can go to 10 different sites who have 10 different salaries for each player so its hard to trust anyone...you might as well trust an expert like Schefter.

I think that is a pretty accurate assessment, but there are a couple small errors when it comes to cutting players. You have to account for the entire signing bonus going against the books when a player is cut or retires. For example cutting McClain would only save like 600k because of this, so I highly doubt he is released.

If Joe can get signed to a long term deal it will help our cap situation a lot because the contract can be structured to push the biggest cap hits to a couple years down the road.

As for our draft, I think defense and offense both need yo be addressed. We need Dline help as well as playmakers at ILB and safety. OLB might be a need as well if Kruger goes elsewhere. On offense our biggest need is LT. WR will also require attention with Boldin and Jacoby coming into their last years. We also need depth along the interior of thr line.

You also didnt account for rookie contracts which is normally 4-5M

John Clayton has come out and said that the Ravens will be about $15.3M under the cap. Thats an expert. So there you go.

I don't see us cutting Leach, Jones, and Boldin. Restructure/extend them, try to get Joe to take $16-17M a year, and look to see what we can do in terms of Ellerbe/Kruger/Reed. In my heart of hearts, I still think Reed will retire, someone will overpay drastically for Kruger, and we can only bring back Ellerbe. I'll be fine with that.

yeah i was like people kept saying we 5.5 over i was like no where not lol we have like 15.3 and with lewis leaving that puts it to bout 17mill under and probabaly cut bobbiw williams and retructure deals with boldin and jones we would have some where bout 15 maybe 14 million left and im fine just sign ellerbee back please!! because we sign ray to a deal with like 3mill in cap so we can def get it done for our players but i see us keeping ellerebee, and reed(maybe) but cary and kruger are gone.

We'll get to retain at least one of our big 4 free agents (Ed, Krug, Ellerbe, Cary) and likely not need Cary next year anyway. We're also getting Webb, possibly McBean and McClain if we chose to hold onto them, and our draftees. We'll be fine. We have plenty of young guys ready to step up.

It's gonna be a young team next year but the younger the better these days, it seems.
