Joe Flacco hate by the media already?

48 posts in this topic

Just saw on sportscenter that one of the "expert analysts" said that if there was an NFL redraft Joe Flacco for sure would not be in the top 7 QB's taken and possibly not in the top 10 QB's taken. Thoughts?

He'll be a late-round steal. Ozzie is always good at finding those guys.
I already thought he was a steal I mean look at the poor falcons. They took some guy named Matt Ryan way before Joe. Ever heard of him? I haven't.
thats not really fair. Either team would have been in close to the same place if the picks were swapped.

Some dude on NFL AM was saying that he still isn't "elite". Joe will never get a fair shot no matter what he does.

Probably true, but not for reasons like Flacco not being elite

Brady
Peyton
Rodgers
Brees

would likely be your first four. These are your elite passers of the football. While Flacco is an elite QB, his throwing needs some work and refinement compared to these guys.

The remaining 6 would basically come down to age tho. While Flacco is young at 28, it wouldnt surprise me to see any of the following go before him because of age and upside

Cam
RG3

Thats 6 right there without guys like Wilson, Luck, Stafford etc... In a reboot you have to remember teams do look to get younger. He isn't saying that Flacco isn't a top 7/top 10 qb just that he wouldnt be one of the first 7 or 10 taken off the board.

To be fair the Ravens did make an honest effort to trade up and get him.
It didn't sound like he was taking age into account but if that's what it was then it makes sense.

Flacco convinced me he's one of the top quarterbacks in the game. Lets rewind a little bit.

Me earlier in the season; Flacco will never lead the Ravens to the Super Bowl, Flacco is lacking some traits thats needed at the position and many others... Even some of of his biggest proponents weren't putting the elite label on him.

After seeing his play take off after the Cam firing I'm a believer Flacco hasn't reached his peak yet. I remember when he was drafted the talking heads were saying Ryan is the most ready at this point but Flacco has the higher ceiling. It looks like we're starting to see him reach for it.

The ride's been fun and the crow taste great!!! Heck with what the naysayers around the country spew, we can see what we have here.
yes they probably would have and it has nothing to do with Ryan being Romo 2.0. Flacco would fit into their offense so well two elite WR with speed and a HOF TE.

Why do you guys listen to these idiots? Flacco can win 3 more of these and they will still dog him!

I want Flacco to wear the shirt "show me the ring". Let's face it: Rodgers, Manning, Brees all have 1 Super Bowl ring. Flacco is in that same group now. Brady has 3 but can you really give him complete credit when they haven't won one since the scandal? Eli is the only QB who has won two in who we know for sure did it legit.

I think Flacco will have more before he retires. He's a great QB. I'm so glad I never jumped off the bandwagon and lost faith.

Who cares? Let them say what they will but they have to call him a champion.

Absolutely. I was one of his proponents that refused to label him as "elite", whatever that word is supposed to mean. And not for a lack of faith in him, but for a lack of faith in our OC and OL. I had no question whatsoever that A) our team will only go as far as our OL takes us and B) Flacco was a stud who was being held back by the people around him.

And waddaya know, we get rid of Cam and our OL steps up and plays well, and the result is Flacco making a HISTORICAL playoff run (someone mentioned that he is the first QB in history to throw for at least 1000 yards and 10+ TD without an INT in the postseason), and is the Super Bowl MVP against one of the best defenses in the league.

So, let the idiotic hate of Flacco continue. I refuse to participate in that any more; my response will simply be "Super Bowl MVP" and move on to the next topic.

We live in a regular season world where regular season stats rule the air. People dont care if your Qb comes up clutch in the biggest games if they put up mediocre stats in the regular season then they still suck. haha people still say Eli Manning is not elite and he has 2 super bowl rings. I have said it in the past and I will say it again...Flacco will get hated on for a long time. But in our world he has developed into an elite QB. This season Flacco will have a statistical surge this is the year he becomes elite. We might not make it to the SB but I betcha Flacco has some great stats, his confidence surged through the roof, he is poised for a breakout season.

Wait, didn't you hear? We didn't win the Super Bowl, the 49ers had their win stolen by some bad reffing.

I hate the media.
