Agree 100%, he seemed confused in coverage. Ed Reed yelled at him multiple times for staying too shallow and allowing Davis to get past him. Not to mention that dreadful missed tackle on Crabtree's TD.

Still, major credit to all our corners, they played ball yesterday,

You may want to get use to him (Pollard). Reed will want too much money. He already said he could see himself playing for the Patriots

I don't even know why I am reading this. He made mistakes and missed tackles, but so what? We won the Super Bowl. If it wasn't for Pollard's excellent play all season it's doubtful we make it his far.

Get used to him? I am already used to him. Pollard has been stellar for 2 years now. Ed might leave, but I think Ozzie figures out a way to keep him in Baltimore.

To quote an old friend of mine.
"A win= A loss around here for some odd reason!
I assume you forgot the second quotation mark... If not I am awaiting the end of that quote haha.

He'll probably take the highest contract now that he has a ring. If we lost he may have gone there to try to win another.

I don't care who played badly. Now that's it's over the only thing that matters is we won! In my mind, they all played like CHAMPS!

I knew he was NOT GOOD in coverage.. but ohh man! He played about as bad as a Strong Safety could have IMO. Missed a handfull of tackels, allowed a td..and was lost in coverage ALL NIGHT.
We need to see more from him next year. I never thought he would have stunk up the joint so badly. He's made some great plays and was a major contributor this season, but man did he look horrendous last night. I'm just glad we got the victory, but he saved his worst game for the biggest stage.

Thoughts?

He played through six cracked ribs

Considering we were going up against Kap and the read option, it's understandable for Pollard to get beat in coverage and look confused at times, most teams looked this way against them. Our defense played pretty good in the last part of the season considering that guys was rushed back and wasn't playing 100% ( Suggs and Lewis ). Ngata was banged up, Ellerbe had two broking thumbs, our best CB was out........ I can imagine us next season when we are fully healthy!

It wasn't his best game, for sure. Maybe it was the nerves of the big stage for the first time, or the fact that he had to help cover the fastest tight end in the game for much of the game (part of this is due to the huge lead that led to the 49er's throwing more than running). But, he's certainly proven himself to be a hugely valuable part of this team, and generally performs well. It didn't cost us the win, so I'm not worried about it.

So it turns out Pollard has had cracked ribs since week 2, that would go some way to explaining his up and down games.
Crazy that he can still lay the wood with the 6 cracked ribs, especially considering he re-aggrevated the injury in week 14

Even crazier when you remember what he did to Ridley in the AFCCG

If I had 6 cracked ribs, I might hesitate before trying to blow someone up.

6 of 24 ribs cracked and you post this rubbish.

Man I was hoping the trolls were leaving after we ran the gambit in the post season.

Maybe if we win the Pro Bowl, NCAA Championship, World Series, and get a few Olympic gold medals that will finally be enough for some of our fan base. (I use the term fan very sparingly here!)

Only Ravens fan want to critique a team that just won the Super Bowl. Sadly, Jamie Dukes was right about the whining that goes on in this fan base. And before you say it, yes, you have a right to nitpick the team but WHY? Lord.

Troll? That's funny. Did he have a bad game ? Yes. Did he perform his job at a high level? No. Is he generally a good player? Yes. Did he save his worse game of the year for the Super Bowl? Yes. Did his injury cause all of this? No way to know, I'm sure it was significant ... but there were a few times he blew his assignment . I don't see a problem in saying ai was disappointed. We had 2 weeks off and he played better against the Pats, with the same injury that he sustained in week 2.

That's pretty foolish. Jaime Dukes? lol. The major goal was accomplished , doesn't mean it was perfect. We're world champs with room for a lot of improvement .

I couldn't agree more I was going to start a Bernard Pollard thread myself. Lol
EVERY big play that went to Vernon Davis went over his head b/c he was peaking in the back field at Kaepernick as if he was a running back instead of a QB.
Then the missed tackle on Crabtree that allowed the TD -_____- smh

He played very well in the reg. season and in the playoffs and he is CERTAINLY Raven material but he didn't perform Super sunday AT ALL!

beasy beat me to it....it is no wonder why Jamie Dukes calls us whiners. We just won the friggin super bowl, and people are criticising a guy who had the fortitude to play with 6 cracked ribs. Un-fricking-real.

Cant wait for the next Tyrod thread...

I'll back off some , with respect to the injury. We'll never know if he would have played better without them. For you to compare it to a Tyrod thread though? Come on, I deserve more then that. hahah.

The dude is playing with 6 cracked ribs, you go out there and cover Vernon Davis (who is arguably one of the best TE's in the NFL)
He's one of the fastest, the best is an overstatement .

Heck, Ed Reed was ticked off with his coverage too.
