He did have a bad game, but he has been solid all yr
This. But who cares. WE WON THE SB and he was a great contributor toward our epic journey.

Lets not forget his amazing hit on Pats wannabe-RB ridley

Agreed. Feels like the Haloti injury wasn't brought up by the national media as to why the 49ers were able to gush us with the run in the 4th quarter when for the rest of the game we had them contained very well. Apparently Frank Gore himself thought he was killing it for the entire game. Smh.
Ya I read that too. I don't know how you think you're the better team that day when you're getting absolutely manhandled in all 3 phases of the game and it takes a lucky 40 min stoppage in the game for you to catch your breath and get back in the game.

Pollard's coverage was confusing and frustrating. Apparently he broke his ribs but I don't see how it affected willingly allowing his guy to get and sit behind him. Regardless we won and he was huge for us in the Championship game.
Yeah, right. Have you ever had a rib injury? It hurts to move much less try to play football. Kudos to Bernard for toughing it out.

This made me laugh. Sad, but true. We could win the Super Bowl and somehow get the #1 draft pick from a trade we made last year, and then go on to win the next two Super Bowls in a row. But then someone would find something to say, like Ray Rice not getting enough yards, or Flacco throwing to the right but not the left, Haloti Ngata playing on a bum knee, Suggs playing with a partially torn or fully torn biceps & after recovering from an Achilles, Bernard Pierce only getting 5 yards a carry or whatever because he was playing with a sprained ankle, Jimmy Smith letting his guy get behind him in the first place.

It's called being a fan. It's what some do, I suppose. I just sit back and laugh most of the time. It's fun.

I'm not faulting him if he was just getting beat. It was more so he was allowing his man to sit behind him. I thought maybe Pees made him the spy for Kaep but based off Reed's reaction it didn't appear to be the case. But agreed him and Reed were warriors for continuing to play.

I was pretty mad when Pollard just bounced off Crabtree and let him get into the end zone. But he's usually a good hitter, so I'm sure it was just an off game for him.

He said he played through 6 cracked ribs so...http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3700/bernard-pollard

He did look bad though. Oh well, we champs!!

So, I can't comment on an individual effort . Just because we won the SB, doesn't mean we played perfect. Im sure when Pollard watches the tape, he'd be pretty pissed. It's just an observation. He gave up a lot in the passing game and didn't deliver his normal tackles.

I think part of the criticism comes from you not recognizing that the dude played with cracked ribs and did the best he could. Same goes for you trashing Ngata. Both of them are true warriors for playing through the pain. Just sayin'.

This. How are you going to trash guys for playing sub par when one guy has 6 cracked ribs since week 2, the other guy has had a sprained MCL and shoulder sprain since the first month, Suggs is playing with a torn bicep and whatever you want to call his achilles tear at this point. All while we sit on the couch. I'll tell you this much right now, torn bicep, tricep, achilles, sprained MCL, 6 cracked ribs, sprained shoulders. I wouldn't be able to keep a 6 year old girl from pushing me off the LOS.

Yet people praise Kruger as the second coming for getting off the bench 20 times a game to only pass rush and want to give him 8 mil a season. Makes sense.

I recognize it... but if you're NOT doing your job, move over so the next guy can give it a try. Ngata set himself up for a bad year. Pulling a hammy on the conditioning test and not being healthy all year.

You do realize these guys are playing with MASSIVE amounts of painkillers ... right ? You think they're out there just feeling pain every second? NOPE.
I respect them not wanting to get off the field, but the facts are facts. We gave up the most yards by a TE in Super Bowl history. We won the damn game, but that doesn't mean poor play didn't happen .

You saw what happened when he went out last night. A 70% Haloti is still better than most. Not up to his all pro standard, but still good and he deserves RESPECT for playing hurt and EARNING his $.

I agree, but for what he's out on tape this year... we could have had better for less. We're paying Ngata too much. I love the guy, but he's starting to look like a player that won't shake these injuries.

Sorry, but Ngata isn't gonna be getting paid to "move over so the next guy can give it a try". We aren't going to bench him. A 75% Ngata is still better than a Tyson.

pollard did get exposed badly on a few plays but his overall play has been great. unfortunately he had one bad game that just happened to be in the BIGGEST game of the Ravens season. lol!

You do realize that just numbs the pain right? Their movements are still limited based on the injury. Cortisone isn't a wonder drug that makes you perfectly fine again. If your knee is sprained, your ribs are cracked, your bicep torn you still can't do much of anything with those limbs. It just doesn't hurt as much.

Like I said, Ray didn't have the best game and Pollard struggled in coverage. But Ngata and Suggs played exactly how their assignments dictated them to play. They played well.

Pollard had a great playoff showing in general. Being tasked with job of covering Davis and making sure Kaep doesn't turn the corner is tough on a player. I know he wasn't tackling like he should, but the dude was hurting. I'd still rather have him out there than the next guy. He can still strike fear in opposing players.

As a whole, the defense wasnt very good. The Upshaw strip was gigantic, the 9ers were driving down the field easily.
Suggs, Ngata , Ray..none of them had a good game either.

Ngata played really well until he got injured.

Again those are pain blockers, guys will play like their limbs are perfectly fine, but the limb isn't. The guys won't feel it, and will walk like they're fine. But the injury is still there and limits the effectiveness of the player.
