Yes, but for how much longer? This franchise has historically done a poor job of gauging when aging players are going to fall off the cliff in terms of production. I understand you all are excited we won the Super Bowl, but tying a bunch of money in aging vets who will only produce at a high level for another season or two is not the way to build a dynasty. Sentimentality is not a path towards domination.

I still beleive Anquan is our number 1. We will have to see what Torrey does next year but Torrey is still inconsistent. Boldin is always Flacco's go to guy, be a shame if he got the axe.
Torrey isn't inconsistent. He's just being doubled on every single down which opens Boldin up underneath. Torrey drawing attention away from Boldin in the secondary has allowed Q to capitalize on his one-on-one match ups. Without Torrey being such a deep threat, Q doesn't become the monster he has this postseason.

Q epitomizes what it means to "play like a Raven." Doesn't he still has a year left on his contract? (can't remember).

Any chance that Webbie restructures that big $$ given the uncertainty of the injury? You would certainly think defending the title and making another SB run would be more appealing to some of our players than a few extra $.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Indy continue to poach our D, however.

Your absolutely right, although I was talking moreso regular season and should have just stapled our offense as a whole being inconsistent rather than scapegoating 1 player. I think Torrey will make a surge next year assuming we can carry the off season momentum into the regular season.

Thank you! That guy was probably another one of the mindless people who yelled "NO!!!" when we drafted Torrey. I'll defend Torrey all day. We had fans on here writing him off from day one before they even saw him play. His hands are too small. His routes need work. I read sports illustrated so I'm an expert all of the sudden. Wrong! He proved you all wrong this entire post-season. If it wasn't for Culliver or whatever DB it was hooking Torrey near the end zone(which the refs missed), my man would've had another TD. Give the kid a break. Did you not see the one catch he made after taking that big hit? He made another catch in stride for a first down where he almost broke one. I don't care what anybody says. I'll defend Torrey forever. I think we need to keep Boldin to teach Doss just a little bit more. Doss has the skill, but he still has some things to learn.
I'll continue to blame the offense's inconsistency on Cam until I see otherwise. With a sound play caller I think we'll see the offense grow by leaps and bounds next year.

As for Torrey, I think he's grown considerably this year. He went from being a deep threat one-trick pony last year to an all around receiver this year. He can run routes now and has considerably surer hands. I literally assaulted my TV with a swear word laced tirade when we drafted him and now I'm one of his biggest fans. I'm so proud of our MD boy :)

Well Jimmy Smith was the one who shut me up last night. I've been very hard on him this season. Mad props to that guy. I will gladly eat crow with ghost pepper hot sauce after his performance last night on that red zone stand.
LOL I was ecstatic about drafting Jimmy and have defended him the whole way. He's struggled with injuries but will be huge for us when given the opportunity to get healthy and start.

Like Boldin, the man comes up huge in playoffs. I remember the INT he made against Crybaby Brady in the endzone in last year's AFC game.

Im a HUGE Torrey fan. I got a chance to meet him and get his autograph, and he even emailed me back and forth after his brother died when I mentioned how I lost a close family member around that time and he kindly replied a couple times and we had a nice conversation about it. But I was talking about his regular season stats, I think he is a tremendous athlete but think he needs and WILL become more consistent in order to staple himself as a true #1 and as I forementioned its moreso the entire passing offense not just him alone.

I don't think Boldin gets cut - most likely he gets extended to lower his cap hit. I think it's actually the best deal for both sides - the Ravens save on cap, and if they give Boldin a 3-4 year extension on top of this year, he'll be 36-37 after his deal ends, at which point he'd probably retire anyway.

I changed my mind. To answer the OP's question from the title, yes! YES! I want to cut Anquan Boldin--a check, that is. You know, possibly extend him a few years and take his 2013 cap down to vet minimum. That is if we think he can play another couple and that also depends on what the 2014 & 2015 caps look like. Those capologists know better than I. That's why they get the big bucks.

If anything, some players will overestimate their value. Ed Reed will not be a Raven next season, people need to accept that. Just hope he retires so you don't have to see him in a Pats uniform.

I see us extending Boldin and lowering his cap number. We also have to get new deal for Pitta. I think we have several guys restructured and I see Ozzie giving Jacoby a new 3 year deal.

Boldin is a Raven till retirement.

Also FTR Vonta Leach ain't going anywhere either. He's another guy they'll restructure or extend. He fits perfectly with what we do here.

I don't use my powers for such trivial nonsense.

Besides, simple arithmetic could help you figure the Reed situation out.
