Just wanted to have a thread dedicated to plays that may have flown under the radar but were just as important to the W:

One San Fran's KR after Jacoby's 108-yarder, Anthony Allen blew up two players (forcing one of them into James) and allowed Ihedigbo to make the tackle.

Jimmy Smith. A pass break-up covering Moss. Separating Crabtree from the ball on the goal-line stand and slowing him on on the last year. 9er fans will be calling holding/PI till the end of time but there were no-calls all night.

Bernard Pierce. He did something positive on every one of his carries. On the the possession after Rice's fumble, Joe made some fine throws but Pierce was the catalyst on that drive.

Ed Dickson was huge in this game, especially after being basically phased out of the offense entirely this year. O-line was solid once again this game, only 2 sacks allowed against another excellent pass rushing duo.

Everyone did their part. No one was flawless, no one was terrible. Jacoby had 2 TDs but muffed (two I think) returns. Koch had a bad punt but a good tackle and a good delaying of the safety. Boldin had good grabs but also a drop or two. Same with Pitta. Ellerbe had good splash plays but also a bad whiff. Cary and Jimmy had some passes defensed, some not. Pollard made some tackles but had a few mistakes in coverage. McKinnie made some great blocks but let Brooks rush free.

The Unsung heroes would be Dickson with those big, tough catches. Allen did a great job blocking on special teams.

Upshaw played the most snaps in his career. He was our best linebacker. All the edge runs were to suggs side.

Art jones balled out.

Cary Williams played pretty well but missed that tackle. Art Jones was pretty beast. On another note, Pollard was very very poor in coverage today, but hey who cares.

Michael Oher shut down the man with 19 sacks on the year.

Ellerbe's shoving Gore out of bounds to save the TD and setup the goal line stand.

Pollard certainly helped get us to the Super Bowl but he was generally horrible today especially in pass coverage

Lots of guys, but Art Jones, Corey Graham, and Osemele all had great games I think. Osemele was a man alive.

Ellerbe also had some big overlooked plays, particularly the hustle despite all the injuries he's playing with to keep Gore out of the end zone in the 4th quarter. I was wondering if it wasn't better to let Gore just score there so our offense would have a chance, but our defense made that miracle stand so it ended up saving us.

Everyone on that defense. Sure, they allowed 28 points, but they made plays when it counted. Great defense today. We were friggin great on third down and in the red zone.

John Harbaugh amd the call for a safety to kill the clock to 0:04. Harbaugh thought outside the box and the 49ers were not prepare for it. It was a great decision.

I gotta say Jimmy Smith on the red zone stand. All three passes were in his direction. And his hit on Crabtree was immaculate. A thing of beauty and what football needs to be. And the last play was not a defensive hold or DPI on Smith. Crabtree shoved him down. And Courtney Upshaw's strip was huge too. A lot of young guys stepped up.
