ESPN saying Joe Flacco doesn't want to throw to the left side

41 posts in this topic

Apparantly the experts have concluded that the majority of the passing plays and play action go to the right side. Hopefully we can prove them wrong.

What's up man? Come on. You could've posted this in the game thread. I don't get caught up in this kind of stuff often. I normally don't respond but the last topic you made was locked. This might have the same thing happen or get merged.

I thought that was wierd. Joe can throw to the left on short/middle passes really good. Interesting though how much better he does on the right.

Being a south-paw I always found it much more comfortable throwing to my left. Didn't think other QBs were the same, though.

That's because usually we have Torrey streaking down the right side. I too would favor that side deep.

Either way, I've seen Joe make some fantastic throws to the left side throughout the past five years. Not really something I worry about. Especially before one last game.

Don't most right-handed QBs throw more to their right?

Joe usually just picks on a CB. Not a side.

Virtually all, however the discrepancy is greater with flacco. However part of the reason is because Torrey is always lined up right, and he's our best deep threat. It's not as bad as say, Sanchez, who mechanically has huge problems throwing left.

ESPN has been saying dumb [profanity deleted] about the Ravens all day, most of it without any good reason.* I've taught myself to block out anything that isn't fun to hear.

*Examples: that we can't re-sign Flacco and that we're outright releasing Boldin. They are just full of [profanity deleted].

I gave them a chance this morning. I really did. But when I turn on my TV on Super Bowl Sunday and the first thing I see as a topic of discussion is "Tebow's Future" that's when I know enough is enough.

Throughout the regular season, Joe generally got pushed to his right by the pressure so I'm sure it was easier to spot a receiver on that side. He can throw it clear across and down the field when there's an open guy on the left, though.

I know I shouldn't, but even I can only take just so much of their crap. I've switched back to NFL Network. I enjoyed watching the Superdome testing the Ravens logo lights in the background while some fool was blathering on about something.

I don't know if you know more about this, but is that report accurate? According to Russell Street report we are supposed to be well under the cap.

No those reports aren't accurate. Our FO has made it clear time and again that Joe will be our QB for years to come. Boldin may or may not be back next year, but it will be his choice.

Don't cover safeties generally play on the left side while guys like Polamalu and Pollard are on the right? I know this isn't how all formation work but when you have two deep safeties that is generally how it works.

I meant about the Salary Cap. Russell street report has us under by just under 13 million.

most of his major and big throws have come his right side BUT Joe can throw left, middle and flats as well. it doesn't matter! IF he has to pop the 49ers from the left side (if that is what they are giving him) then so be it! let's go Joe!

Of course one side is going to have better numbers than the other, it won't be 50/50. Joe has had more deep plays to the right, but he certainly can, and has, thrown successfully to the center and left. Garbage stat. They're running out of things to say.

All because of the weak O-Line protection on his left side... ;)

Analysts keep forgetting we're not playing with the same O-Line as we did in the regular season. Joe is a right-handed passer, so it is probably more comfortable for him to throw to the right instead of across his body. Same can be said for southpaws. This is a non-topic going into Sunday. Joe will throw the ball where he wants, when he wants.

Isn't this obvious? Of course he throws better on his right side, he's RIGHT-HANDED. There's a reason the left-tackle is the 'blindside protector', because QBs have their backs turned to it.

That said, Joe has shown he can throw the ball all over the field. I'll point to his torching of Pittsburgh in the 2011 opener as some great left-side throws.

It's ok CRP. All they are talking about is the almighty Kap, and how the pistol is "unstoppable". It iwll not matter to them. They will say we cannot do it next year without Ray
