Waiver Wire Week 12

6 posts in this topic

I've got a few waiver wire questions.

This week, I'm looking to see if there are any free agents to replace two disappointing players on my roster: Tim Hightower and Chad Pennington.

Would you drop Pennington for Matt Cassel or Joe Flacco, or a similar QB of that caliber

Also, who would you drop Tim Hightower for (if anyone). I was thinking about picking up Warrick Dunn or Hillis from the Broncos, but neither are availible in my league.

Also, would you drop either Donnie Avery or Antonio Bryant for Lance Moore, Justin Gage, Ted Ginn, or a receiver of similar caliber?

Thanks

Cassel's okay. I've had him for a while. He's only had the one great game. But I think Cassel might be your best choice, better than Pennington. Shaun Hill (although not this week against Dallas) is in a great spot to put up some big numbers off the waiver wire, he's in a Mike Martz system. He put up 25 FFP in his second game. He's worth a look too.

Warrick Dunn has a chance to put up some nice numbers now with Graham done for the year. If he's available you should try to get him and keep Hightower. I do prefer Hightower over dunn though.

Avery's streaky. Needs that big play. You might get more consistency out of Antonio Bryant. He's having a stellar year. I'd leave Ted Ginn out of it. Lance Moore, might be one of those players you pick up, then dies down in your lineup. Saints use too many guys.

Keep Antonio Bryant, Drop Pennington for Thigpen if he's available and pick up Sammy Morris if he's available. And if you can squeeze Lance moore onto your bench I'd do it sooner than later cuz after he blows up against the Packers he's probably gonna be claimed ASAP by somebody else

Well I'm not sure about everybody else, but drop Chad Pennington? He did awesome last week against NE, he got 30 fantasy points sitting on my bench. Plus he has a favorable match up this week against St. Louis, I'm not sure about dropping him, I would say keep him. Let's not be too quick here on Thigpen, he has been doing good but Chad is more consistent. KEEP CHAD!

Well I agree after 5 receptions for 115 yds and 2 TDs, someone is going to claim him. Lance Moore gave me 22 points from the monday night game.
