Justin Tucker "one of the worst percentage-wise kickers in the NFL this year" - Shaun O'Hara

64 posts in this topic

Edit: Tucker. Obviously Justin Tuck would be a bad kicker :)

Watching NFL Network (mistake, I know), and I just watched them discuss how important special teams would be. Shaun O'Hara said, "These two kickers were among the worst, percentage wise, in the NFL this year."

Willie McGinest and the host of the show nodded in agreement.

How do you get a job like that, where you can be so wrong and yet paid so well? Weathermen, politicians, and sports analysts. Jeez.

.... Weathermen?

Anyway, that's just plain laziness. You'd think if they know what they'll discuss beforehand, they could at least look up the stats involved, or at least have them close at hand.

That's pretty bad. I know Akers had a down year but Tucker was money... You're absolutely right, anyone who is paid that highly should at least get their facts right.

 That can't be true....how many did JT miss, three? Four? He's made so many under pressure and clutch kicks that I don't even remember his misses.

Now we have a stinky kicker to go along with our old defense and offense that lives and dies with Ray Rice.

From what I can tell he was 6th in completion percentage (90.9%, extremely high).

Tied for 1st in kicks over 50 percentage-wise (4/4)

They were talking about "Who has the edge?" and I kept waiting for them to point out that it's Akers vs. Tucker... apparently they didn't bother to do their research before talking.

Same here. I kinda sorta remember his first miss, and the rest is just a blur. In a good way.

His exact quote was "They (Akers and Tucker) were 2 of the 3 worst percentages for FG kickers this year."

Ha!!

I count 5 games that Justin Tucker scored the game winning Field Goal, or in the case of the Chiefs game, was THE reason for winning that game.

[/quote] they can say what they want but you know what? The Ravens and Tucker are in the Superbowl.... and it was Tucker whom made it possible with the game winning Double OT kick in Mile High in a game that is now one of the NFL's all time greatest games. "The Mile High Miracle" it was tucker that made the winning kick. and despite what critics and people say...... He and the Ravens are the only ones in the AFC left standing. so hey he can be 7th percentage wise. doesn't bother me.

Wow. lmao

Pathetic. That's why you can't take these guys serious. They really don't know what they're talking about most 80% of the time.

Lol, and the Ravens fans in N.O. shouting the "Seven Nation Army" chant in the background almost the whole broadcast. We got the last word!!!

These national sports media channels should stop hiring so many biased ex-players and put that money into technology and their research departments so they can operate with updated statistics!

Well, it hasn't been the stupidest thing I have heard this week. An editor at ESPN picked the 49ers to win 45-7.

It is the year of the rookie kicker and Tucker got the least publicity out of all of them, and he is just as good.

Too lazy to check, but I believe he was 30 of 33 in the regular season, and hasn't missed in the post season.
Yea, he's terrible.

I wonder how much they pay this guy to be so clueless???
