Who could we slap the franchise tag on this year?

Ed Reed?.......@ $6.798M

Paul Kruger?..@ $9.455M

Joe Flacco?....@ $14.642M

Or any other candidates for that matter?

Also being rumored that Suggs, Jacoby Jones, and Ngata may be restructured/extended this offseason.

Not saying we should do this but I'm just curious what would the tag be for Ellerbe?

Im sorry, but were going to have to let Kruger go, I love him but hes just a pass rusher cant be trusted in coverage and we simply wont be able to afford him. Time for Courtney Upshaw to step up. As for the franchise tag theres no question that Flacco is going to get it. We should be able to work out a contract for Ed Reed and Ellerbe.

Kruger will never get tagged at that amount. He wouldn't be inclined to sign a long term deal getting 10 mil in a season.

But behind Kruger is Suggs and Upshaw and behind Ellerbe is what? An injured McClain who cant even play on passing downs.

Suggs and Ngata would only be restructured since they have recently been extended. I also read that Jacoby Jones may get an extension to lower his cap hit and create some cap room.

The difference is ellerbe will cost a fraction of what kruger will. A lot of teams can and will pay top dollar for a proven pass rusher.

Yea extending Jacoby would be a great idea. I think Sizzle might be up for an extension seeing that he only has 2 years left. I could see a Jacoby extension, Suggs extension, and Ngata restructuring, and hopefully a Boldin restructuring as well, keeping my fingers crossed for that.

It's been reported that Suggs & Ngata are candidates speculated to be restructured & that JJ may get extended. So.......here's hoping. Worried about restructuring Ngata since he said he might retire early.

Extending jones to me is a no brainer. I am not a fan of a lot of restructuring. All yo are doing is delaying money you will eventually take a hit on. Too much of this and you can end up with a lot of dead money toward the cap if you have to cut people. It is hindering the steelers right now and has set back some franchises(49ers at one point) back decades.

No way Haloti will retire he just turned 29! He has lots of time left and we have him locked up for a while. Suggs will retire before Ngata.
