MAN I wish he was playing on sunday.

Webb is the man !!!

It's a real shame Webb is injured. It must be awful for him. To have to watch as his team plays a Super Bowl.

He's not garbage, no. But what I am saying is he wasn't that great before the injury. Now, he is coming off of a spinal injury that may have neurological damage as a complication. Huge red flags for a linebacker who is supposed to tackle.

True.

Didn't Charles Woodson miss his too? Webb should reach out to him, has to suck so bad.

Well technically Charles Woodson didnt miss the super bowl but he did get injuried during the game of the super bowl which side line him for the rest of the quarter( i think fourth quarter now sure)

Nope, injured before half time. Second quarter, actually.

This early in his career, yes. It would be foolish. But in like 5-6 years it could be a good idea.
I would agree!

Next year's motivation: show that we can be a top 5 defense without Ray and possibly Reed (though I really believe he'll be back here).

With talent remaining like Ngata (who is still in his prime and will be 100%), Suggs (see Ngata), Webb, Pollard, McPhee along with young potential from this draft and amongst Adrian Hamilton, McAdoo, Omar Brown, Jimmy Smith, McClellan, J. McClain, Nigel Carr and Josh Bynes, we should bounce back defensively into the top 5 in 2013.
I'd feel better about this if we can keep Kruger

Nah, these guys have the TEAM mentality down to a science. I'm sure he is thrilled they are there and that he had a part in that. I hope he gets a ring.

I was so excited to see Webby play this year, especially after his incredible season last year. Wish him the best and no setbacks in his abilities.

I know that. I'm just saying. For him, it's bitter-sweet. He may be a great teammate. You know, never complaining. But I know for him he's probably dying to go out there and tackle someone.

I just hope there are no lingering effects from the injury. He got paid a lot of money and if he's hampered that's going to be bad for the team.
I totally agree. He showed rust after his first knee injury and now he's coming off an injury to the other knee. I just hope he's still the same player... I love Webb and I'd hate to see a player's career of his caliber cut short due to bad injury luck.

I was more concerned with the massive amount of cap space a hampered Webb will chew up. I'm a little worried the FO didn't do their due diligence on the medical side of things.
That too. We made a HUGE investment and now for a lack of a better word, we are dealing with damaged goods. The knee injury against Dallas was bad luck. He got tangled up with Dez. But I agree, this is along the lines of the Foxworth deal a couple of hears ago. We paid good money to a guy that just couldn't get healthy and we paid for it when it came to the cap.

Very good news. His name has been lost in everything that's happened this year, but it's one of the bigger questions going into next year, in my opinion. He's truly been one of the best corners in the league over the last 2-3 years, and it would be a huge boost for our defense if he can come back to play at the same level. It's fortunate that, if he had to get hurt, it happened early in the season. He'll have plenty of time to come back by the beginning of next season.

No and it's foolish to think we'd ever move a shutdown corner to FS.
Well the only reason I said that was because of his previous experience at S in college, and the fact that HE IS a ballhawk. In my opinion he would be the perfect replacement for reed. Correct me if I'm wrong also, but wouldn't playing S be a little better on the knees than playing corner (especially with both of webbs knees having issues)? I would also think it would be easier finding another good Corner in the draft than a good S, but thats just me....

What does this even mean, due diligence? There is no way to predict an injury like that.

You know, test a player out for a few years to see if they get injured, THEN draft them.

Well in Webb's defense at least Webb is an elite level CB. We paid Foxworth because we just came out of the 2008 AFCCG with Frank Walker and Ogelsby playing CB after McAlister, Rolle and Ivy all got hurt, and there were NO CBs on the market that year.

Easier to find a SHUT DOWN corner than a safety?

Lol.
