One example: Flacco, as everyone on this site should know by know, wears number 5. Kaepernick wears number 7 and when Jim Harbaugh was a quarterback for Baltimore, he started 12 games and had a win/loss record of 5-7.
And for what it's worth, according to Chff, only two signal callers wearing #5 have started Superbowl games: Donavan McNabb and Kerry Collins (0-2). Passers wearning #7 have fared much better, as we Ravens fans well know.
You've probably heard about SF's record in Superbowl games more often than you care to count, but you probably didn't know that in those games, 49'ers quarterbacks have thrown 17 touchdowns to 0 interceptions. All right, maybe you did know that, but it was novel for me.
Both teams are known for their ability to run the football well. Will they be able to achieve something which 8 of the last 10 Superbowl contestants were unable to do: rush for at least 100 yards?
