Personally...I think Baltimore's image can do without the typical gangsta mentions of "ice", "mah soljahs", rims, "<profanity removed> We already have this great city known as thug central, a ghetto city, trash, etc... I'm tired of it. It IS a great city, but unfortunately this type of showing makes us all look bad

Musically, its just bad. Bad rhymes, horrible production value, autotune all over the place, bad hooks...its just a mess of a lot of crap slapped together

and...PURPLE REIGN?? really? Because I know that nothing inspires fear in opponents and pride in your city and team like the image of PRINCE dancing around in a purple coat with BUTT-LESS CHAPS. oooooo! intimidating!

Its ok but it certainly not the new Anthem.

Nothing will beat the 7 NATION ARMY.
I know soccer and collage did it before us but we were the first to do it in the n.f.l and it stuck.

He's a local rapper that has roots in Baltimore. No one's expecting this to be the new Ravens theme song, but for those who like rap, it's a great song. Some people don't enjoy rap, and some people don't enjoy rock.

When you really get down to it, hardly anyone would even know this song existed if it wasn't for Torrey Smith retweeting it. Now that it's known, you may hear the hook in the stadium at times, but don't expect this song to personify the Ravens.

I definitely don't appreciate that it got recognition on the Ravens home page for something that is poorly produced and has less views other fan generated content that board members like myself and others have created. For that to be called out and receive special notoriety is wrong. Maybe an article needs to be written that covers ALL of the fan generated playoff and Super Bowl content which I find unique to our fan base. I think that is where the real story is at. Ravens website team please take note and consider this, thanks I think we would all appreciate it!

It got mentioned because Torrey tweeted it. I get the feeling that the writers don't trawl the forums and youtube for content.

That said, Purple Reign isn't all that great. The various technical problems have been elaborated, but my biggest beef is that it isn't really about the Ravens. What mentions of the Ravens that there are just the backdrop for the actual rap. If there's going to be a song for the Ravens (SNA excepted) then it has to actually be about the Ravens.

And as someone already mentioned, all I can think of is Prince when I hear the title. He's hardly making anyone shake in their boots.

I appreciate the singer trying to give love to the Ravens, but personally I am not a big fan of the song. I don't think we need an anthem when we have a decent fight song our very dedicated Ravens Band plays their hearts out for all of us all season long. The fans have also been rocking the Seven Nation Army chant and it sounds awesome!

Also, this song sucks. Nelly's "Heart of a Champion" is probably the best song that mentions Ray and the team, and I'm not a big fan of his either.
