It's senseless not to elect Art Modell into The Hall of Fame - PERIOD!

People look at Belichick as some evil Sith lord, and "Hey kid, get off my lawn" kinda guy! In glimpses, he's actually pretty easy going, laid back but he's no nonsense and just keeps his cards close to the vest!

Of course there's a double standard in football! Brady should have been penalized for the leg antics and that hit on Pitta was also a penalty! Sometimes it seems that there's a list of NFL penalties and an addendum of Raven Penalties!

The hit on pitta was an obvious defenseless receiver.. not a H2H but its still a penalty, he hit him before he took a breath after catching the ball blindsided and pollard n reed get flagged for hitting people who duck their heads and initiate contact when they go in with their shoulder... Pitiful Glad Brady lost and slid going at Reeds manhood. you mad tom?

Simple answer to Joe's success, "offensive line plays' been lights-out". Yes, Caldwell calls a better game as well, but think about all the OL position shuffling that's gone on all year until now! Harb's had McKinney in the dog house forever, and it was silly - we didn't want to pay him with his play-time clause in his contract, he would've been eligible for another 1M if we did. Our guys are in their natural positions now and it's paying off. Most any QB will succeed with enough time, and even the greats, (Manning, Brees, Rodgers, Brady) falter when they're pressured, period.

I%u2019m really starting to believe in the team of destiny theory but much in redemption.

All major events that has occurred this year.
1. Art passes away.
2. Ravens Nation wins 2nd straight division title.
3. Ray announces his retirement.
4. Colts loses to Baltimore first round of the playoffs.
5. Peyton Manning ex-general of the Colts loses to Baltimore.
6. New England meets the Ravens redemption twice.
7. Ravens Nation wins the AFC Championship.

On 13 October 1996 Ray Lewis recorded his first NFL career sack on Jim Harbaugh, Baltimore lost that game 21 to 26. It was the first game BMore had against the Colts. I do not believe this game has anything to do with brother vs brother and is strictly caused by redemption.

I've been in love with Pernell McPhee since his first game as a Raven when he recovered a big fumble like 20 or 30 yards downfield

Glad he's finally back healthy.

Speaking of which, hoping Webby's recovery is on schedule. Totally thought our chances were limited without him, but that wasn't the case. Still can't wait to get him back next year.

Skip Bayless cracks me up. I can't even get mad anymore. His arguments are so pathetic, it's comical.

I am glad Skip decided to wait one more game, because we don't need that jinx.

Anna Burns can shove her apology up her....!

Pollard is 100% correct.

Every time Ravens play the Patriots I see a segment of Belichick and Brady game planning on what to do about Ed Reed...though it's obviously never been filmed, i cant help but think the idea of removing Reed from the equation has never crossed their minds. Even Brady-lovin Bayless said it was intentional. And now cry baby Brady snubbed the pro-bowl due to an "undisclosed injury", which I can only assume is a bruised ego...or maybe he stubbed his toe tryin to cripple Reed. Either way, fine [him]!!

In that video, Bayless said that Flacco has had a QBR of like .4 in games vs the Texans and the week 15 Broncos. Now, does ESPN have a different war of measuring QBR, because the NFL QBR says 45.4 in Houston and 76.5 in Denver, which isn't even close to what Bayless said. Just correct me if I'm wrong, I don't really pay attention to what ESPN thinks.

I've said it before about Grossi. I won't tweet it, lest I offend him - but this is the way I see it -

He has a HOF vote and it is therefore his obligation to vote based on the merits of the individuals on the ballot. He is not an elected official placed into political office by the fans in Cleveland and compelled to represent their interests.

It simply comes down to whether or not he has the courage to do what is right and that is fairly assess the contributions that Art Modell made to the game, despite the potential backlash he may face in his own media market. Based on his lack of courage in the past, I am not sure if we can expect him to act any differently now.

three rants:

art deserves the nfl hof. the writers have been denying entrance to long. i say this as a football fan, not a raven's fan

the nfl has, totally, a double standard when it comes to the golden boys (manning & brady) that''s all i need to say as it's to the point of sickening.

should we win the super bowl, it will be bitter sweat. baltimore ravens will finally hoist the trophy. ray lewis will retire on top. but, i believe reed will retire also. on that day baltimore will lose two future hof'ers that will not be replaced and whole heartily missed.

i don't think welker's wife realizes she isn't NEARLY attractive enough to have her opinion mean anything. it's okay because her husband is about to leave new england and have his career go down the toilet lmao. GO RAVENS!!

There's no need to bring up old dirt regarding Birk and Moss. That was a long time ago. Leave that garbage to ESPN and the rest of those media clowns.

Why does some Cleveland media clown get to be the guy presenting Art Modell for Hall of Fame eligibility anyway? Why does that guy get to argue it? Of course some Cleveland stooge is going to vote against him and try to convince everyone else to do the same. Total conflict of interests, I don't see how it's fair.

I have many strong feeling about this article. Art deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. If we can forgive the Colts for stealing the uniforms, team name, and history from Baltimore, then the people in Cleveland can forgive Art. Even the people in Pittsburgh have more class than that. Brady should be fined! Imagine if he injured Ed on that play. McPhee really made a difference by being a smart player, studying film, and being in the right place at the right time. His situational awareness reminds me of a certain middle linebacker who is about to retire.

Skip Bayless = caricature

Everything about that guy is phony. There's no way any thinking human being would take him seriously. He's ESPN's circus freak, a side show.

Wow, the money ESPN pays to people just for being dumb.

Any openings?!?! ;)
Good points.

Here's your answer:

The MLB, NBA and NFL hall of fames are all full of dirty politics (a.k.a. horse crap) and run by self righteous, hypocritical bureaucrats. They're old, dying men who need to stay relevant.

Can't write all of the negative things I want to write about welker's trashy [wife] who wouldn't be with him if he didn't play in the nfl. She should keep her trap shut about Lewis' children and learn the facts.
yes, they do!!. the standard QB rating tops out at 156.2(?). This is a totally new system of measuring QB performance, measuring everything he does, and when. It goes 0 to 100, with 50 being average

I am almost certain that we'll be wearing white, as the AFC is considered to be the away team on odd years.

I don't know what dictates which unit is announced at the start. If the league gets to dictate this, then no doubt they'll want Ray to come out of that tunnel.

Those stats are his passer rating. He may be a moron but Skip's right about those QBR stats.

As long as Cleveland holds on to their unhealthy grudge of Art, they are going to be a miserable franchise on and off the field. It is best for them to forgive Art and enshrine him in the Hall. Perhaps, then they will start winning in the AFC North. I wish Tony Grossi and the Clevelanders would realize this.

Skip Clueless is just using Joe Flacco for a payday. The more controversy he can create for Joe the more fools like us watch his pock marked face flap. Stop watching him. Stop talking about him. Stop reporting on him. He has been as wrong as a "sports" writer can get and his time is over and he knows it. Name calling is all the guy has got left.

I remember the penalty Brady drew in the regular season when he slid under an already diving Ngata. My belief at the time was that he knew he would get the flag and did it purposefully. I can't help but wonder if that was his intent when he kicked Reed. Not to injure Reed, but as a "hail Mary" attempt at getting the ref to throw the flag at Reed. Seems like the Patriots team philosophy is if we can win on talent, let's get the flags.

Upon further review, it has been determined that Ed Reed, actually ran into Tom Brady's foot and should be assessed a substantial fine by the league office

For those of "them" who think Flacco and the Ravens caught a break when Aqib Talib went out of the game; you are just plain stupid. Talib has never been described as an All Pro corner. He is certainly talented, but if you claim Belichick's defense got foiled when he left the game the even Belichick himself would ask you to shut up because that makes him look very ordinary as a coach. For crying out loud, the hapless Jets lost Revis and still were a respectable defense; the Ravens lost Webb and still made it to the Superbowl; the Falcons lost Brent Grimes and went to the NFC Championship after winning the most games of any franchise this year. And no Talib is not in those guys' stratosphere. He is good, but no, he is not that good.

Obviously analysts like Skip pay little attention to simple but crucial facts, such as Cam Cameron's grip on the offense. Since Caldwell took over, Flacco has played tremendous football. As we head into next year, if we can bolster our o-line with Castillo's help, and maybe add another weapon or two for Joe, amazing things will continue to happen.

LOL... dude, no doubt. Might as well throw Pollard under that bus too, just because he was on the field during that play. I'm glad the ridiculous actions from the National Flag Football League office hasn't kept our safeties from hitting people. That hit Pollard laid on Ridley was a huge turning point.

Dunno if something similar exists in English, but here we have a Hungarian saying that roughly ntranslates to "Who he shouts can't be right."

Just came to my mind watching Skip Bayless...
