Congrats from a Steelers fan

I cant say I will root for the Ravens to win the SB in a few weeks because I wont, but I thought I would come on here real quick and give my congrats to the Ravens team and their fans for this amazing run they have gone on in the playoffs the last 3 weeks. Beating both Peyton Manning and Tom Brady back to back weeks on the road as I take my black and gold sunglasses off is pretty damn impressive. Nobody on here could have ever predicted that after the Ravens lost to the Steelers and Batch in Baltimore on Dec 2nd and lost 3 games in a row in mid-December that they would be playing in the Super Bowl. But here they are and that is why they play the games. Right now as much as it pains me to say the Ravens are a better football team and a better organization overall then the Steelers. If the Ravens do indeed win the Lombardi Trophy in 2 weeks it changes everything in this division going forward. Tomlin and Harbaugh will be even when it comes to SB wins and I would even put him ahead of Tomlin seeing that he has made the playoffs every single season he has been the Ravens coach and won playoff games and Tomlin has missed the playoffs twice. I am not ready to sit here and say that Joe Flacco is a better overall QB then Ben Roethlisberger but he definitely has been the better QB then Ben the last 2 years especially in the clutch and in the playoffs, and his receivers such as Boldin,Smith, and Jones go up and make plays unlike the Steelers receivers Brown,Sanders and Wallace who are all talented but very lazy in my opinion.

But aside from all that I just want to say congratulations to all the Ravens fans on here that have paid their dues and waited for the Ravens to get back to the Super Bowl the last decade or so. Like I said I cant say I am going to root for the Ravens to win because I wont but I had to come on here and give them mad props. Maybe the Steelers need the Ravens to win the SB just so that it will get Mike Tomlin,Big Ben,and the entire Steelers organization a wake-up call. Because like I said if the Ravens win the SB it changes everything, and if they win the Super Bowl and the Steelers miss the playoffs next season Mike Tomlin will most definitely be on the hot seat here in Pittsburgh. But like I said congrats and goodluck in 2 weeks you guys have definitely earned it no doubt...

He should root for us, thats if he wants his team to be the only one with 6 rings.
Perfect comeback to that backhanded compliment.

^ what i've bolded is the ONLY thing that you said in your post that matters to me Ben_7. but thanks for the congratulations though! and, IF the steelers would have made the playoffs this season, beat Luck, Peyton and Brady (the last 2 on the road) in the playoffs and then win the AFC Championship game to get the opportunity to play in the Superbowl like the Ravens have done....i wouldn't cheer for them either! it's not in my nature or character. that's just the way it is! peace!

And if you look at the stats, since 1996, Pitt has only won two SBs. So WHEN we win this year, we will be tied with them for rings in the Ravens era. I can live with that.

No I am still rooting for the 49ers and I just can never get myself no matter what the circumstances maybe to root for the Ravens. What good is this rivalry if you have to root for a team you cannot stand. It didnt sit too well I am sure with all of the Ravens fans I am sure when the Steelers played in 3 of the last 8 Super Bowls and won 2 of them. And believe today there are a ton of Steelers fans that are not too happy that the Ravens have finally got over the hump and made it to the SB. It's a tough pill to swallow but at the end of the day the Ravens earned it and we as Steelers fans have to accept it and give the Ravens their due. If the 49ers tie the Steelers with 6 rings then so be it. The Steelers can always go out and win a 7th ring with the kind of organization they have. One thing as a Steelers fan we have been able to say is that the Ravens under this regime of Harbaugh and Flacco have never won a Super Bowl and if the Ravens do win in 2 weeks we cant say that anymore and use that as leverage. I think it's going to be a great game and hopefully for your guys sake you dont feel like I did when the Packers beat the Steelers 2 years ago because losing the SB as a fan is the worst feeling in the world and something that takes pretty much an entire off-season to get over. Getting to the SB is half the battle winning it is another because nobody will remember the loser of this game in 2 weeks. The Ravens losing great players and great leaders like Ray Lewis and most likely Ed Reed in the off-season might not get this golden opportunity again so when you get there you had better seize the moment and take full advantage of it.
Exactly that is why there is nothing good from a Steelers fans perspective that will be good about the Ravens winning the SB in 2 weeks. It will be an absolutely horrible sight for me to see John Harbaugh and Ray Lewis holding up that Trophy I dont want to see it at all...I think it will come down to how well Joe Flacco plays again in the game with the Niners. If he keeps doing what he has been doing all post-season the Ravens will win. If he has a sub-par game and turns the ball over the Ravens will have a hard time winning. This is the best defense Flacco and the Ravens have faced in the playoffs and I think this game will be much tougher for the Ravens to win then both the Broncos and Patriots game. A sick feeling in my stomach though tells me this is the Ravens year and they somehow will find a way to win this game much like they have found a way to do so all post-season against all odds...

It's all good. I'd rather have a vicious AFC North rivalry, with the same two gut-wrenching, bare-knuckle matchups every season and two/three teams in the playoffs, than "conquer" some broken-down division like the AFC South, West or East every year. The Steelers and the Ravens are 2nd only to the Bears/Pack in terms of the amount of venom they spew at each other. I can live with that, too! lol.

I'm rooting for the Ravens for several reasons. Big bro Harbaugh deserves a SB ring seeing how many times he's made it to the playoffs and "deep" into the playoffs. You can count on two fingers the number of teams that still represent "smash mouth" football: Ravens and Steelers. Ray Lewis deserves one, if for any reason, for the amount he represents God (in my opinion), him always being a "true soldier" on the field, and this being his last year. In addition, it would make the AFC North hotter than a firecracker in the 2013 season providing for some really good entertainment through-out the year. So from my perspective: GO RAVENS !!!

Thank ya, It's actually refreshing to hear from a Steeler fan at this time. Especially after dealing with Patriots fans. (I think we can both agree, worst fanbase in sports).

Like Ben - kudos to the Ravens organization. You beat the Pats outright and deserve the trip. As the AFC representative, I will be cheering for you. But that being said, Pollard to say Brady should be fined is the proverbial pot calling the kettle black. I wish you all the best of luck winning the Super Bowl, and hope San Fran gives Pollard what he so deserves as a cheap shop artist - a career ending injury. He doesn't represent the Raven organization, and too bad he is making the trip on the back of your team. Good luck Ravens!

The AFC North will be much more competitive next season, regardless. The Browns and Bengals are improving and high draft picks for CLE will also help restore balance.

This... Love the sig btw.

Don't root for either, especially after that A kicking that the 69ers gave you last year.
