I was searching online due to the recent emergence of questions regarding the potential compensatory draft picks we may accumulate. It would appear that someone has already compiled a list, one which looks pretty accurate. I'll post the link here as well as some details.

http://www.detroitli...pensatory-pick/

ARI: 7th, 7th. (2)
ATL: 5th, 7th. (2)
BAL: 4th, 5th, 6th, 6th. (4)
BUF: 7th. (1)
CAR: 6th, 6th. (2)
CHI: None (0)
CIN: 7th (1)
CLE: 7th (1)
DAL: None (0)
DEN: None (0)
DET: 4th, 7th. (2)
GB: 4th, 7th. (2)
HOU: 3rd, 6th, 6th, 6th (4)
IND: None (0)
JAX: 7th (1)
KC: 7th, 7th (2)
MIA: 6th, 7th.
MIN: None (0)
NE: None (0)
NO: None (0)
NYG: None (0)
NYJ: None (0)
OAK: 4th, 6th, 6th, 6th (4)
PHI: 7th, 7th (2)
PIT: 7th (1)
SD: None (0)
SEA: None (0)
SF: 5th (1)
STL: None (0)
TB: None (0)
TEN: 7th (1)
WAS: None (0)

That's a total of:
3rd Round Compensatory Picks: 1
4th Round Compensatory Picks: 4
5th Round Compensatory Picks: 3
6th Round Compensatory Picks: 11
7th Round Compensatory Picks: 16
Total: 35

I could be wrong, but I thought there were only 32 compensatory picks, so this list might be a little inaccurate but I think it's a good measuring stick for what we and others could receive, with a few here and there that will be changed for obvious reasons.

Thats seems pretty close to accurate because there will never be many 3rd round comp picks despite what a lot of people here think. Houston deserves the only 3rd rounder. I would be happy with a 4th, 5th, 6th, and 6th as our comp picks.

People who think we get a 3rd are crazy. The most recent ones to get it are the Raiders(Asomugha) and the Panthers(Peppers).

I'm guessing the 3rd rounder (if it is true) is for Mario Williams, the rest I don't know.

Yeah, I think he means the "experts" think we'll get 4.

I can see us get a bigger pick from Redding due to postseason honors. I think we'll get a 6th at least but I can see a 5th for Redding.

Also, regarding your earlier comment, the reason they say we will get two 6th round picks is because of losing two players that equate to a 7th, so because we can only earn 4 picks they will boost what would have been a 7th to a 6th.

i read somewhere we have 11 picks. Unless we have one from a trade and three comp picks, we have four comp picks. It was on some draft site.

Yeah, the 3rd is for Williams. The three 6th round picks are for Allen, Dreessen, & Briesel.

That's why I don't get this system. Jason Allen barely even played at all because of his injuries with the Bengals. How does this warrant a 6th round comp. pick?

Probably because of his contract. 2yr/8.2 Million. 4.1/yr average.

Just found another source for 2013 comp picks. This one is a bit different.

http://bloggingthebe...ck-projections/

It predicts we get a 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th round compensatory pick for our lost free agents.

An extra 6th would give us good flexibility to use our real 6th pick to jump a team we think might be after our prospect.

Agree Grubbs is good, but let's be fair, NIcks is probably the best guard in football or were you just saying that because they signed someone it cancels it out?
