The media spotlight is on Ray Lewis. But the most important defender on the field Sunday in New England may be the man next to him – inside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe. Ellerbe will likely be the ...

The combination of Ellerbe and Graham will have an impact on the pat's "bread & butter" short game!

Yet, I am also hoping a name we've said some good things about but not hearlded much, like Courtney Upshaw, makes a tremendous, game-changing impact tomorrow!

Cary Williams, don't you dare mess us over!!!

I don't care who comes at ya ...

Simply hit HARD & blow up the play!

Make 'em think twice about doing that again ...
because you have to make them pay if they want to play!!!

He's an amazing playmaker on tape, he just flies everywhere disrupting plays.

I just wish he would wrap up better.

Ellerbe has been the straw that stirs the drink for our D this season. We saw the same thing with Sizzle last year, when he is on the whole D is on. And just like Sizzle, Ellerbe can do it all. We've seen him blitz, cover, and chase down the RB. He has that energy that he brings to the team and we've seen it since his rookie season, and now we are starting to see it flourish.

First of all Brady is going to have the time to throw the ball and he's not. The blitz packages will be full scale beat down blitzes. Once sizzle and company get inside Tommy boys head that will tell the story of the game. GO RAVENS 34-20

One thing for sure is that NE depends alot on Welker and he has to be kept under wraps as much as possible. He'll get his catches, for sure. I've always said that I thought that we could use Doss just like they use Welker. We shall see......I'm looking forward to the Harbaugh Bowl.

I have a friend who is NOT a Ravens fan... laughed and said to me last week... Once Ray retires, you guys are "screwed"... "You guys are going to need to draft another LB"... He just kept talking about the "only" LB worth looking at was Upshaw, and he was going to be a while... I asked him if he knew ANYTHING about Football... Laughed back at him and asked if he knew who Jameel McClain was... Asked him if he knew who Dannell Ellerbe was... There was silence...

We will still have a GREAT Linebacking corps. Suggs, Kruger, McClain, Ellerbe, Upshaw... need I go on???

Let's go get this one Boys!

The x factor is the 30 degree weather we will be in. We have been cold and the pats are just getting out of their 2 week hibernation. They gona get frostbite!

I don't think LB is a huge need, Ellerbe and McClain will start next season, if Ellerbe comes back. Then you have Bynes as a backup and B.A. Maybe we draft one in later rounds, or replace McClain with a high draft pick, but to get one that worthy i think we will have to trade up.

I wouldn't mind letting Cary Williams walk, he hasn't impressed that much this year, ad Graham has played a lot better. Graham and Webb start next season, and Chykie Brown and Smith come in on nickel. I just hope we get Ellerbe and Kruger resigned, they will be big for our Defense in the future.

I believe they will try to pull our safeties back with a couple of deep balls, which opens short and intermediate routes. That's their bread and butter.

Our X-factor is Joe Flacco and for some reason no-one believes he can get the job done consistently.

Now those of us who actually watch football have noticed that Joe has been hot and consistent since losing to Denver. Winning this game is the next step in his being able to consistently dominate when it matters most. He knows the Patriots very well, they are ranked in the bottom end against the pass, and if they sell out to beat the long ball then we will beat them with the short game.

Furthermore, I believe our defense doesn't have to change their game at all. They are prepared to play a ton of snaps, and keep everything in front of them. The Patriots may win the time of possession battle, but as long as we score more points then they have hardly a chance to win this one.

I love Ellerbe. He's very flexible at what he does. He can come off the edge, matchup against any TEs/RBs in the league, play zone - basically, do everything you want a LB to do. He essentially single-handedly shut down Gronkowski in week 3, and will hopefully do so to Hernandez and their running corps tomorrow. Probably our best all-around defender.

Dudeman, You are indeed correct!

They are, however, a lot better with Talib at corner. Talib, from Tampa ,was the only trade made at the deadline he was brought in to sure up the defensive back field as he can hang with a #1 wr which let's them play man coverage and put more men in the box.

The only problem with that is the Ravens have two deep threats Jones and Smith and Talib can't cover them both!

I hope we are able to keep him and Kruger in the off-season. They are going to be our rising stars and I don't see any potential heirs to Ray Lewis in the draft. Keep promoting within.

As long as Ellerbe doesn't rip Vereen's helmet off within thirty yards of the endzone, I imagine he'll have a pretty good day.

@Dudeman, I like your viewpoints. In D, we were hugely disciplined last week. Scarce on the rush so PM didn't pass for easy short yards. Secondary almost invisible as they were policing the long ball. I've not seen discipline like that before, from any unit. We can win with it (D, O & ST) again tomorrow.

Go Ravens.

We need to watch Donte Stallworth and Brandon Lyold too.

Donte Stallworth has been on IR since his first game back, i believe he broke or highly sprained his ankle.

Patriots thrive on teams play zone defense and using formations and motion to get a guy open in those zones. Last year Steelers play tight bump man to man and dominated the Patriots. I hope the Ravens play more man coverage and not let receiver try to sit in zones. Bump within 5 yards and let pass rush get to brady. Key Welker especially on 3rd down. Must stop run so they can be in predicatable pass situations.

I just seen someone say do your best defense... like they lack confidence in the defense against NE. Do you not know that we are the 1 defense that literally gives Tom Brady FITS?? He absolutely ABHORS playing against us, and it shows in the numbers. Of course he's still Tom Brady. But he's the worse he can be against us. Him and Manning both. Our defense will pull through for us. And Flacco will again outduel him. No worries. #GORAVENS!!!

I have confidence in Ellerbe the Pats aren't that scary without Gronk just jam Welker at the line and he's out of the play they are 1 dimensional Denver was by far more complete

We've not drafted a LB high since Suggs. If you pick Upshaw remember he's no speedster at 271 lbs. With Ray Lewis retired who'll step into his shoes. There's only one fast, chip on his shoulder, tough, smart and has speed........ Ellerbe will be the future rest assured folks.
