While going over pro football focus I noticed that they had just posted the new Elusive Ratings for the backs in the NFL with over 100 carries. And to my surprise, our main man Bernard pierce was sitting pretty at #3 on the list. Not only that, but it appears that he has the 3rd highest Yards After Contact average amongst these same groups of backs. We drafted a pretty special player:

Despite stats I find it hard to believe Adrian Peterson isn't the most elusive runner. Those cut backs...

Damn, Rice isn't even on the list?! Hopefully, this will boost #27's performance, knowing that a young upstart is lurking in his shadow...

Rice tends to be bad after contact, but he also tends to make people miss out right.

Truely he is , but the amount of carries he's had screws it up.

Remember when everyone said why did Ozzie trade up in the 3rd round to get Pierce. Well looks like the Wizard of Oz knew how good Pierce can be in a zone block scheme.

Good point. Can't think of another Hall of Fame running back.

There's nothing wrong with the list. Touches, missed tackles forced and yards after contact are all taken into account. I doubt Redman would have been as high on the list had he received a workhorse's workload.

Yea. The first thing I did when I saw that list was look at the guys with 300+ carries. These guys are elusive with workhorse carries and are the cream of the crop.

1. Adrian Peterson
2. Doug Martin
3. Marshawn Lynch
4. Alfred Morris

But you also have the guys that had 200 carries and you know they can continue the trend.
1. CJ Spiller
2. LeSean McCoy.

The rest of the guys are guys who make the most of every carry. How they can hold up their elusiveness with a full time job is yet to be seen.

It's because of volume. If Pierce had 300+ touches I'm sure his numbers would decrease as well which just goes to show how impressive Peterson and Spiller were.

Yeah, I hadn't really thought about that.
