Video Issue Fix

What is possibly preventing you from watching videos on our site is having AdBlock installed in your browser (it's something you manually have to install). In order to watch videos on our site you will need to uninstall AdBlock. The AdBlock software searches for ad calls in the script on a page and attempts to block them. And since ad calls appear early in the script, breaking that script early causes problems with other page elements – video in this case.

Here's more info on AdBlock: http://adblockplus.org/en/firefox

The league is working on implementing a detection/alert system for people with Ad Block. They said they already have the plan in place and will start on it soon, but it likely won't be in place until Super Bowl.

Hopefully this will solve the problem!

I'm having problems with videos too. Sometimes I have to reload the video section up to 10 times to get the page working properly. Today's live press conference didn't work here on baltimoreravens.com nor on my phone with the Ravens aplication.

This is also true:

"Videos are slow occasionally. They load and don't play in a seamless fashion".

There's no change to any of these problems if you turn your Adblocker off.

So you need to uninstall AdBlock to get those videos working better but you can watch videos with AdBlock installed if you just reload video page multiple times and be patient. Sometimes videos work just fine with AdBlock on but sometimes not. Hmmmm, so I guess it's not possible to to get the videos work with just AdBlocker turned off. Just gotta get used to it then, because AdBlocker is a must at these times.

Well thanks anyway!

So, you say I have to UNINSTALL AdBlock, meaning it's not enough if I diasble it for this website?

Because there's no way on earth I'm gonna uninstall such a useful thing for one website - even if that happens to be my team's own website. I can't imagine a video important enough to make me let the endless sea of unwanted ads on some of the other sites I frequent just flood my screen...

I have ad blocker off and still nothing.

Disabling AdBlock and uninstalling it are two different things.

Yeah, te best thing is when you disable AdBlock and the result is that now you will see the ads - but the videos still won't load/start - priceless :)

Well, I don't think tere are gonna be very important videos till August, so right now it's not that important yet.

Is this a new issue? The old issue never resolved? The old issue resolved and has come back? This thread is from 2013.

Oh, I see now.

Sorry, it's my bad: I wasn't considerate enough: I saw that the videos started to misbehave and the problem (the videos either never loaded or did but never played more than one or two seconds - checked using multiple browsers on three different PC's/laptops) didn't seem to go away, so I came here to check if there's any announcement or anything about it - and then saaw this topic on the top if the list - so I just assumed its about the problem I've been experiencing.

Sorry, and I promise I'll try to be more considerate the next time...

PS: went to check the videos, now they seem to be working fine, AdBlock installed (though de-activated on this site) notwithstanding. So it seems that, indeed was some temporary issue, and possibly not at your end, but probably somewhere in between.
