I'm never happy when a player is injured, but I am not very broken up about it either. This is very fortunate for us especially with our issues having linebackers cover tight ends. I feel bad about it but we may have lucked out. We had Webb both games against the Pats and having to go up against them without answers for Gronk and Welker would have been killer.

How can I change the post to: Gronkowski Re-Injures Arm. Out for rest of the playoffs.

Agreed. Not happy about it, but not sad either.

Now if only Lloyd, Welker, Brady, Hernandez, and a few others could get hurt as well.... ;)

lol Welker killed us last time around. I still see a similarly close game like the one against Peyton. Brady is a lot more careful with the football though...

I wish him the best in recovery, but I'll take it. After the way the game ended last year, I want everything in our favor this year. Fortunately Sterling Moore is now on the Cowboys I believe. :D

I feel bad for the young man but this is a huge shift in the running game. The game is on Joe's Shoulders.

Anyone else hoping for the falcons?

He's a great player but not the difference maker for this Patriots team.

I think I recall talking about him trying to return from it when he broke it and hearing naysayers

Same feeling. I'd rather beat a team at their best, but if an advantage like this helps us get to the Super Bowl, no body is going to look back and feel bad about it (except New England fans). I'll take every advantage we can get. We still have to deal with Hernandez and Welker.

Even though Gronk is out, judging by the Texans lost, we'll have to find a way to stop their RBs in the passing game. Lewis and Ellerbe won't cut it.

Thats gonna help us a ton. We have no coverage linebackers period, let alone someone who could run with Gronk.

Plus he's a freak of nature when healthy. Hate to see him hurt, but this is good news for us.

Plus I've always thought Hernandez was more dynamic and fits their system a little better.

Welker will be a pain, and Hernandez is scary; Lloyd will sneak in a few big plays; Ridley will be tough to bring down, and we can't sleep on Vereen and if Woodhead plays will be hard to account for.

Work is definitely cut out for us.

True, but we don't have to focus in on Gronk. He was solid in the AFC Championship game but we shut him down when we played them this year. It allows us to not need to adjust our gameplan to Gronkowski. It's a major help.

I remember Webb keeping him relatively in check. I do remember Edelman having some big plays before he hurt his hand spiking the ball (serves that cocky SOB right).

He killed us this year but not in the AFCC. Welker was the leading receiver this year with Gronk doing next to nothing. And Gronk was the leading receiver in the AFCC with Welker held in check. It's all who you gameplan against. In the big picture you gameplan against Brady, but it's smarter to gameplan against their best players. Make Brady do all the work and don't give him easy throws. Without Gronk we can focus on Welker and the run game.

Don't forget Hernandez. His versatility is a huge weapon.
