Seemed like we didn't use him at all in the second half/OT. Was that scheme related or was he banged up?

Thanks

Running the ball just wasn't working out. Might as well get an extra WR or TE out there instead.

He was out there, just not in the capacity we're used to.

I was wondering that too. It made no sense to continually pound Rice in OT without a lead blocker. At least Caldwell tried to spread the Denver D out with going to a 3 WR set as the base defense but on that last drive, everyone knew we were running to get yardage, throwing Leach in there is your best bet.

Having said that the trap shotgun draw call on 1st down was outstanding.

We didn't need him pass blocking

And my guess without the ability to watch tape is having leach out let us have a slot receiver and we used that slot receiver to expose their safeties/middle of field

Which we were doin all game. All of flacco's best throws came against/beside their safeties..

Well besides when champ got blasted by Torrey a couple times hahaha

I guess they didn't want to overuse him after he aggravated his injury

I noticed that, too. Whether or not the running plays were successful, we did run it a lot. If we're going to run it, I'd much rather run with Vontae leading the way than without. The entire second half and overtime, I found myself asking why Leach wasn't on the field, and why, oh why, was there no play-action after so many running plays?
But, hey. We won. I think we're all too happy to care now. At least until next week.

Leach was hurt since the Colts game, ankle or something. Caldwell is doing very well.....nah outstanding so far....

Caldwell unleashes the real Joe which has been kept as little boy by Cam for 5 long years....

I think you're thinking of both Bernard Pierce and Vonta Leach, at the same time. Leach limped off the field in the Colts game, whereas Pierce got hurt in the Broncos game. I'm pretty positive Leach didn't get injured, yesterday...

They both came into the game on the injury report, knee and ankle respectively.

No, I know that. But, Bernard Pierce played hurt throughout the entire game against the Colts and never came off the field, right?

Vonta Leach was actually sidelined for a few plays (or a drive or two) when he limped-off when the Ravens played the Colts; but, Leach eventually came back. The biggest difference, for Bernard Pierce, was that he never returned, yesterday.
