Nice cartoon. He did call it well. In spite of the "predictable" play-calling, I never thought I'd see the day that Ray Rice got 30 carries, and I loved it. Even if they were a bunch of two and three yard gains, it was a refreshing reminder of how football games used to be won. Two short runs, then a third-and-short, instead of a run, and incomplete pass, and finally a third-and-long situation. Had the run-blocking been any better in that game, we would have completely dominated with how we ran it. I hope that concept carries over to New England with Rice and Pierce each getting a lot of carries.

I just noticed that the win in Denver was a historic one for the Ravens!

It was the most points ever allowed in a road win for the Ravens. The next most points we ever allowed on the road where we actually won the game was 31 points @ CIN in 1999.

Pretty cool! With Cam, we had never won on the road when giving up more than 28 points.

Flaccos and Camerons relationship was probably even worse for the offense then the play calling.
It was pretty clear that Joe liked Zorn more, everyone knew that Zorn and the coaching staff didn't get along and shortly after he was led go Flacco made it publicly known he hated Zorn's firing.
Than, of course, Cam tries to fix things by becoming the QB coach as well and that works out horribly.
During the off season Flacco, by Harbaughs admittance, campaigned for more no-huddle in the offense, which we only ended up using at home, which ended in an up and down season.
Finally, someone else takes over. Someone, who trusts Joe to make big plays and goes back to a more up-tempo approach even on the road.
I think, almost anyone, but Cameron would've done the trick at that point.

Yeah. Caldwell's doing better with Cam's IHOP menu than he did.

Perhaps we can bring Cam back to be the QB coach. Or the water boy. Or perhaps he could work at an IHOP and make pancakes. Delicious pancakes. But they would eventually be end-around pancakes, or pancakes up the middle.

Implying that Cam could return IS NOT funny. Also, I hope we work out a new play book.

I'd rather have a six-foot telegraph pole placed on the sidelines to call the plays than have Cam back.

I heard on ESPN that it's possible Caldwell gets looks for HC again somewhere once the seasons over. I know all the current vacancies have been filled, but something could possibly happen where we lose another coordinator, once again.

That would suck big time if he left.

I just don't see any place he could go to be a HC. That just sounds crazy. Someone would have to get fired for him to be a HC. Perhaps he could go to the NCAA
Schefter said it an opening becomes available, and a teams looking for an offensive minded coach then Caldwell is once again a strong candidate. I heard this on sportscenter 2 days ago.

I hear you but what team? I just don't see a team out there where a coach is on the hot seat. It's certainly possible but I just don't see it. Do you have any ideas?

Caldwell has my vote most definitely. My fear is that Caldwell could get tapped next year for a head coaching position. The problem with Cam is that we had stability at the OC position with a bad OC.

Jim Caldwell Has Made The Offense Better Ever Since They Released Cam Cameron as The OC so I'd Say Jim Has My Vote To Stay

I am still undecided about offering Jim Caldwell the offensive co-ordinator job on a permanent basis. It's one thing to take over somebody else's offense mid stream and just call plays that are already there in front of you. It's a whole other thing to start implementing ideas, formations, plays and systems of your own. Caldwell has no prior experience of being an offensive co-ordinator and that does worry me.

Of course if we go on to win the Superbowl then the decision becomes pretty much a no brainer. He would almost certainly have to be offered the position if that were to happen.

That is reason alone Caldwell should stay. What does it say about Caldwell's ability, when he is able to take Cam's plays and actually make them work at the right time. Also and most importantly, it's going to come down to how Joe feels about it. Since he is the franchise QB, his input is going to be vital. If he says that the offense is doing good under Caldwell, chances are Caldwell will remain OC.

Caldwell is great when he's not calling a vanilla play scheme. His conservative play-calling in the first half of tonight's game bewilders me.

It is so REFRESHING to have someone making effective adjustments after halftime!!!!!
Well when we first came out we tried to run it on first down. But then he made some adjustments to unleash Joe. He stopped trying to rely on the run first and moved to the pass. That adjustment worked.

I must say, I was furious after the first half, but Caldwell really turned it around in the second by giving it to Joe. I'd still like someone with more experience, but Caldwell is solid.
