[News] The Breakdown: Best Game In Ravens History

90 posts in this topic

Joe Flacco's performance was pretty darn elite and there was little doubt Justin Tucker would make it.

Proud day for Ravens' Fans. The Denver Broncos were the top seed in the AFC. 11 straight wins. With a hall of fame QB Peyton Manning and many consider him MVP. He can have it, he'll be watching the Baltimore Ravens in the championship.

woah woah woah. Best game in history? The best game in ravens history was the Super Bowl. This game was the most exciting and fun to watch however.

Well - the alleged best game in Ravens history probably shouldn't have happened. All the self-proclaimed "analysts" basically did everything but tell us not to fly to Denver...they did everything but tell the Broncos you will have a 2nd bye week.

I want every single person here to go online to a Denver newspaper. Get a login and remind all of the readers that this is why they play the game.

Just because we won the superbowl doesn't make it automatically the best game in history. This game... Ray Lewis' last ride... against a player in Peyton Manning that we had never beaten in the playoffs and lost repetitively to year in and year out... going shot for shot with him. Joe Flacco OUTPLAYING him... and NAILING that desperation pass to tie it up and send it in to overtime... and winning in DOUBLE OT! This makes this game the greatest game ever played by the Ravens. But everyone is reserved to their opinions... But it's tough arguing against this game

I live in a town thats full of Bronco fans. When the room went silent after tucker made that field goal the room went silent. Instead of cheering I was dead silent. All i could do was smile. I was happy more than anything because RAY gets to play another game. He deserves to lift the Lombardi trophy, He is a great man and a great leader.

[/quote] Yeah I was in California at a bar full of Giants fans for the 2000 Super Bowl. My back was towards them all as I got there late and there were no tables left. I was slamming beers and yelling for the Ravens the ENTIRE game! The bouncers had to escort me out after the game for my safety. LOL! It was a great moment.

Considering only Ravens fans thought we could do it, I just like seeing the faces of these NFL analysts in how they try to explain this game.

I was in Denver to watch Baltimore's last game there in 2006. We went 13-3 that year, and that game in Denver was one of those 3 loses. I remember leaving the stadium after that Monday Night Game with my Jamal Lewis jersey on mad at the world. Words can't explain how much I would have loved to have been there to watch this epic win in person. It was such an amazing game that to have been able to see it in person in that enviornment would have been spectacular.

Why the Broncos didn't try to do something as regular time ran out, amazed me to no end. They had 31 seconds on the clock w/2 timeouts, at home, with Manning under center. What a stupid decision on their part. All they needed was a few plays to get in position to at least try a long field goal. But......I was sure happy to see it and so was the Ravens bench. Their were alot of ticked off Broncos. Denver fans are still steaming over that call by Fox. What a game!!

I went to the Baltimore @ Houston game this season, which was my first NFL game. Many friendly people, until Houston put a beat down on us. I was wearing my #52 R.Lewis Jersey, and as I was walking out the stadium a bit stunned, a lot of the Texans fans started giving me remarks "They needed you", referring to Lewis, throwing it at my face, also the women were saying "it was a great game wasn't it?", my reply to all of them was, "Come playoffs where it counts, lets see who shows up." Once they heard me say that, you should have seen how their faces, went from smiling, to a straight face, and silence.

Offensive line won that game. Did flacco get touched by Denvers feared pass rushers ? The Denver pass rush was taken out of the game and Joe looked confident. Mckinney is a good left tackle, much better than oher.

I am loving the way this O-line was changed, offensively it was a great move on the staff, and i am glad we are back to the no huddle.

Enjoy a full week defense. 87 plays against Indy and 88 against Denver. You earned the rest and the victory as you stepped up when many would have broken.

As for the offense? Looks like Cam was a big part of the problem. I still question all the "shots" down field that when unsuccessful, account for little time off the clock and wearing the defense out.

But it's all good. Enough plays are working and the defense if gelling at the right time. Two more wins to go!

We Sliced and Diced our way through that defense that was Ranked #2 in Total Defense and top 5 in Rush and Pass Defense. The Patriots Rank #24 and The Texans Rank #16 in total defense. We could possibly be a blow out in the AFC championship game.

Don't you love the pundits making excuses for why their "picks" were wrong and how Denver "lost" the game and not HOW THE RAY-vens "BEAT" the Broncos and that Joe "elite" outplayed Messiah Manning?. GO Joe! Sizzle! Ray,Ray! O-O-O-O line! Jim Caldwell!!!!!!

Thank you, John Harbaugh. Thank you, thank you, thank you for finally opening the door to your doghouse and letting McKinney out! This is the o-line that should've been playing all season. Had he let McKinney out earlier, maybe we'd be playing next week at home. I don't care who we play next week (I'd kind of like revenge against NE from last year), this is a team of destiny!! If Flacco can keep playing that well on the road, nothing will stop us.

GO RAVENS!!! ... all the way to New Orleans and a win in February

McKinney wasn't in the doghouse he wasn't in shape and hurt his flexor during practice. Finally healthy, he was able t play up to his capabilities. Kudos to the offensive line. They did a great job keeping the Denver D off Flacco.
