Extend McKinnie's contract

72 posts in this topic

Guys, McKinnie is playing hard because if he didn't, the rest of the team would shame him to no end. This is Ray's retirement year now, and while before nobody cared what he did because he was loafing around this season now has more meaning than *JUST* winning, this is Ray's last hurrah. Bryant hasn't cared about this season or this team in any way shape or form until Ray announced he was leaving football. THAT is what has him playing like the freaking LT he really is. THAT'S what has him throwing Von Miller around. THAT is what's going to let him throw Ninkovich around. Bryant is a guy who was mentally checked out and came back in when the greatest player he's ever had the privilege to be around said he was done.

I'm glad Bryant has decided he's gonna play his heart out for this team for the remainder of the playoffs, but I don't want to resign him at all, really. I want to get a REAL LT, a guy who is gonna come into camp and play his butt off for Harbs and make a difference and hopefully be the guy for the future. There are plenty of rough guys in the draft right now that can do that. McKinnie earned my hate, and he won't easily escape from it. I'm sorry, guys.

I agree with this..... I don't like him either. Has all the tools to be a great LT. Just no brains. Do not reign him unless if it is a stopgap

I mean Irrelevant, the sick part is is that Bryant ALWAYS has this talent and this body. He just grabs guys and bends them over and acts like he's the Hulk when it suits him. Why the heck doesn't he want to be this good ALL YEAR ROUND?!! We could keep him for two more years if he played the same way every game and have no problems keeping Joe upright!!!!! I don't get it! It's only Ray's retirement announcement! Bryant was ready to call it quits, collect a paycheck and go home before that. I don't understand it man. If I was born with the body he was and was in the NFL, I'd be blowing every top pass rusher up I could just to get more money. I know he's older but sheesh. Boggles the mind.

You're on fire lol........ Good burn I will admit

But honestly, I wish I could sleep more...... On topic now

Well, Mckinnie for a one year deal and then drafting Kyle Long could help

My mind is boggled enough from the damn finals week thing..... Now I have to read this...... I get the point, Mckinnie is an all world talent. We all know this. Joe is coming into his own. I at least want my franchise QB to be alive. It makes me wonder though, with how good Joe is playing now, how would we do if we had the 2000 D plus Suggs Ngata and Reed and Webb on D, with Flacco at QB with an actual Olinemen who gave a damn?

I have a dream...

We are going to draft and/or assemble a frankenstein LT. He will have the physical prowess of Michael Oher, the mental acumen of Matt Birk and the heart and discipline of Marshall Yanda.

Then I woke up from said dream, and realized that this frankenstein will be long gone when we are on the clock at #32 overall

Oh heck no. Mike Adams is still my Mike Adams. I said quite a few times that I expect Adams to have an iffy rookie season; this season I think we will see him come into form.

Eh, my dream is roughly the same fly. Right now I just hope Bryant keeps that fire within him so we can keep Joe upright long enough to make passes like he did at the end of the Denver game

Won't matter, Bens stupid descion making + holding the ball too long = potential all pro LT not being put to use correctly.

Ben Rothtard will still get more sacks than any other QB a year not bc of the line, bc he holds it too long

I call Ben a therapist. Why? Just put a space between the 'e' and 'r'. Therapist.

That said, if Adams does indeed flunk, it wont be because of Ben.
In fact, Pittsburgh, if healthy, looks like they are going to have a fearsome OL. For our sake, I pray I was wrong about Adams.

That's like building a fantasy team on Madden. A team that good could never exist.
