How To Win on Saturday?

Ecstatic that we got the win this past sunday and that we're still playing! How lovely would it be for Ray to go out the same way that Bettis left the game (after a Superbowl title).

I still have a few concerns w/ our offense. I'm not too worried about Rice's fumbles I know that he'll clean it up.

But we had the ball for 22 minutes and we were on defense for 37 minutes. Our defense is coming together, but against Manning, if he's on the field for that long the general WILL pick us apart. That has been a major problem w/ our offense throughout the season, time of possession.

The fact that we are underdogs, playing a hot team on the ROAD, against one of the best QB's in NFL history I believe that we need to control the rock and keep the ball out of Manning's hands' to help our chances of avenging that 34-17 HOME loss.

What do you guys believe our keys to success are for this Saturday?

Yep. That is the old tradional way of doing it. So if we run the ball very well and contain Manning, we will win.

Just play like it's any other game. If you let all the hype and negativity get to you, you will lose. Just keep a cool head, but don't be afraid to take a couple of chances here and there. The meek don't write the history books! :ravensquote:

Offense: Get Rice and Pierce heavily involved. Extend drives, and keep the offense on the field and Peyton off the field. Use the run to set up playaction, and work the middle of the field, getting Boldin and Pitta heavily involved.

Defense: Pressure Peyton like theres no tomorrow. If he has time, he will pick us apart no matter who is back there in the secondary. But if Kruger can have another nice game, and Pees uses creative blitzes and generates a lot of pressure, our secondary will look really good.

I'm really buying into what Caldwell is doing with the Offense and I think that it will make a huge difference in this game

1. Put your 5 best Lineman on the field at their correct positions

2. Let Joe roll out of the pocket and use his legs to extend plays and buy more time. He's much more athletic than he gets credit for, and he throws excellent on the run..use it.

3. Run the ball- We could possibly have the best 1-2 punch in the league with Rice and Pierce

4. Take your shots-at the right time. It seems like Caldwell has a much better feel for when to call for the bomb..and it results in more big plays completed over the past few games.

5. Get the ball to your playmakers- Rice, Boldin, Pitta, Smith all need to be heavily involved in the game.

and finally- DO NOT TURN THE BALL OVER. Putting points on the board for Peyton, giving his more opportunities, giving him a short field are all ways to find yourself golfing next weekend.

Id rather them pass, at least that wouldnt eat the clock as much as them slowly driving down the field pounding the ball. It kills me inside watching it every week.

Obvious answer is to just win the individual battles...mainly the battles in the trenches. I think this is important, but even more important I think will be getting out to an early lead. Putting the pressure on Manning and an otherwise inexperienced offense will be key. Furthermore we need to have balance on offense which once again hearkens back to winning in the trenches. If we can get out to an early lead and then run the ball effectively with some high percentage passing mixed in that to me is the recipe for success.

Don't feed Cody and the tell him that Manning has a loaded chili dog in his hand warmer. Unleash the beast.

Show Oher the Blind Side movie again and tell him this is what you're supposed to do: protect your QB, maul the LBs, and don't false start.....

O line performance. Period. Obviously, it's the key to running the ball effectively(clock) and keeping Joe off his back(points!).

Putting McKinnie into the mix last week was either a stroke of genius or an inadvertent miracle. I think(and hope!) that tomorrow we see better O line play than we've seen in a long time from a Ravens squad. Oher is back where he belongs and Cheeseburger is fresh having played only one game. And he has to be motivated now. Just having the tackles stable makes Kelechi and Yanda better. I hope Birk has something left in the tank and also that at no point in the game he hikes the ball into his thigh!

The D will play like their hair is on fire and hold denver to 24 or less. We should win this game.

This is exactly right.

Hey all, Broncos fan here coming in peace--looking forward to an epic game tomorrow.

The Ravens really need to come out and punch us in the mouth if they want to win. The Broncos are built to take a lead and then sit back as our pass rushers go to work. Then we run a bunch in the second half and only pass on third downs. Every game we lost this year we fell behind early and couldn't mount a comeback in time, so you might put it out of reach if you can get up by at least two scores by the half.

Other thoughts: Pitta should have a great day tomorrow--he abused us last time just like every TE. For some reason the Broncos can't cover TEs, and we have a hard time tackling them if they get into the open field. Love your running game too--Pierce has looked really impressive lately, and he's maybe a better fit for your scheme than Rice. Rice is dangerous in open space though--if you can spring him out on screens he'll kill our Safeties.

Anyhow, good luck to you guys. Really looking forward to the last Peyton vs Ray game, and if you win I'll be rooting for you the rest of the way through. Would be pretty nice to see Ray and Ed get one together.

This is the most sane thing I've heard from a broncos fan. Some fans and tv analysts are acting like Denver is some unstoppable machine that the Ravens don't even have a snowballs chance in hell to beat. I'm glad you understand that the term "any given Sunday(or Saturday)" is a true statement. It should be an intensely physical heavyweight fight tomorrow and I'm hoping for the W. but I wish your team luck.
