They tend to rush athletes back into action sooner than us regular guys. Because they're in peak physical condition as it is, I'm guessing the recovery is easier for them.
Yeah but considering this was already reported as a complete tear of the LCL and at least a partial (if not complete) of the ACL, within a knee already held together with pins and rubber bands, I do not see that rush thing happening. I would expect more towards the long recovery time.

From Adam Schefter:

So the quarterback that they gave all those picks up for quite possibily will never be the same for the remainder of his career, and it just started!

Well, it's a good thing the Redskins didn't trade their future for RG3 and drafted Russell Wilson in the 3rd.

He's probably the best back-up QB in the league! Undefeated so far, including a last-minute heartbreaker against the Ravens. WAS would definitely be in good hands.

Are you SERIOUS? A rookie..the best back-up in the league? What a joke that is..

TJ Yates
Alex Smith
Chad Henne
Matt Flynn

off the top of my head.

Hindsight is 50/50...I still think it was a great trade, and the right decision to start RG3 vs SEA.

It's unfortuanate that he got hurt, but theres no way he wasn't going to play. He said he could, and his coach trusted him. I know if I wanted to play and I knew I could and my coach didnt play me, I would be pissed.
According to Shanahan, "I talked to Robert and Robert said to me, 'Coach, there's a difference between injured and being hurt. I guarantee I'm hurting right now; give me a chance to win this football game because I guarantee I'm not injured.'
Maybe Wilson was better value then RG3 but don't act like you knew that Wilson would do this good down the strech. Or that you know he's going have a better career than him.

True, Wilson had a better record and more TDs thrown then him but if it wasn't for that GB game they would have the same record and he wouldn't have tied the record in TD throws. RG3 was hurt for probably 4 games this year (missed 2) and still posted better #s then Wilson in every important catergory, don't get into stats when comparing the two.

Anyway, it's still to early to decide if the trade was bad or if they should've gotten Wilson instead. But some people act like giving up 2 first round picks for a franchise QB is much. RG3 played LIGHTS OUT this year. The only thing he did wrong this was not going down when he should. Hopefully for him and the Redksins he learns from this, go down and not run it as much.

But his career is far from over. He may not be able to run as fast as he did, or be as elusive as he was this season, but the dude can seriously pass the ball. And imo he's got the "IT" factor. If you don't want to see him succeed just because you don't like him, that's different.

I defend RG3 alot, not because I'm in love with him, but because I don't understand why everyone thinks stuff like, Wilson was better value then him...Morris carried that offense...RG3 is the next Micheal Vick...It was stupid for the Skins to trade that much for him, he's got a bad personality ....whatever!

Yates: mediocre.
Smith: so mediocre, his coach axed him for a freshman
Henne: do I really have to get into this?!
Flynn: had 1 huge game against the hapless Lions a year ago. Doesn't prove much.

and Cousins has even less experience, less vested time in the offense and less years of being a pro.. Kaepernick is a second year player. He has more wins then Cousins, more starts , better size/weight/speed..
Henne has had a bunch of good games at the NFL level. Mixed in with some bad ones.. He's always been on a team lacking talent. He's serviceable .
Flynn worked under Aaron Rodgers , and a good staff. Smith lead his team to the NFCC , had a great passer rating and Td/INTs were very good!
Yates, lead the Texans to the playoffs with a hobbled Andre, no Mario Williams and lead a playoff win against Cincy...

ALL of these guys have a better resume then Kirk Cousins...

You say this, yet you make the assumption that he's the best backup QB based on one good game against the Browns and a good drive against us? Oookay.

Henne is atrocious. I'm not going to argue this moot point. Yates doesn't have much more game time than Cousins. And Cousins has more wins than Flynn. Kaepernick is a poor man's RG3.

Alright, maybe he's not the best backup, but he's definitely near the top of the list. When you look at this year, only Kaepernick can compare to him.

I'll just let you ride the skins.. Yates has complete GAMES under his belt and a playoff win... Are you really serious? Kaepernick isn't a poor mans RGKnee he actually has size and durability...

You're foolish... Most back-ups don't play.. what was it that Cousins did that made him great?? Please, tell me..

He's undefeated. He had huge shoes to fill. And I didn't say he was great. Could we just drop the "argument" entirely?

Since you conceded he's not the best back-up in the league, Yes.
