Whatever happened to just playing on a dirt field? Or in the mud? Everything has to be all shiny & new. Makes me sick. Like the Super Bowl -- when are we going to get another Snow Bowl? HUH!??!
Hopefully 2014 when it's in New York

As Mod 2 said, the Steelers played in a cesspool and got away with it.

"Bring it. They want physical. They want to run against us. You know we'll be there."

The Steelers did not get sanctioned about their field against the Dolphins a few years ago and Fed-ex was in better shape then that,
You read my mind. The Steelers field is worse than that field at Fedex on Sunday. If Fedex needs to change, so does Heinz.

Oh, I think it's fitting to share this video, originally Tweeted by the Faux John Madden: http://fauxjohnmadde...icles/104557586
Honestly, does anyone remember when Brian Billick said (something like), "I will not put my team on this surface" before that Ravens/Eagles preseason game at Veterans Stadium? The Vet was a horrible stadium to play at, given its terrible playing surface on that turf. But, I can't "blame" these injuries, at FedEx Field, because of the field's conditions.
I'm pretty sure Heinz Field is the only, other stadium, north of FedEx Field, that uses real grass. I recall the Patriots getting rid of grass at Gillette Stadium mostly because it "cost" the team a game in late 2006; and, just a week later, FieldTurf was installed. So, I guess it would just be wise for the Redskins to remove the grass and replace it with either FieldTurf or Sportexe Momentum Turf (like the Ravens have). Either way, the surface would be better suited for cold-weathered games, like the ones that tore Adrian Peterson's, RGIII's and Chris Clemons' ACL.
Thinking about it, though, after writing what's above, is how no one ever brings-up artificial grass being a contributor to the NFL becoming an offensive-lead league. I'm pretty sure artificial grass is easier to run on than real grass; plus, unlike like turf, the surface isn't hard. But, maybe that's just me...

Ever go outside and play in the cold? It sucks. You play much much slower, you feel everything more. Catching a ball, running, getting tackled, everything hurts a lot more. I really think they need to outlaw domes, or require the temperature to be played slightly lower. I know it defeats the purpose but it gives teams such an advantage. The Falcons have such an artificial home field advantage. An explosive offense inside a dome. Yeah, I wonder why they play so well.

Dan Snyder is an embarassment to the NFL in many more ways than field condition.
I live in the DC 'burbs and I can attest to that. From suing an old Lady who could not pay her club seat contract, not allowing pedestrians to cross Landover Road to get to the Stadium and not even getting a waiver to allow the shuttle buses to continue to run from the Landover Metro thus forcing fans to walk a mile to FedEx from the Morgan Boulevard Station on the blue line, its obvious he doesn't care about the fans or his players, especially RG3.

All about that money! Which is funny, considering he could be making a lot more by cutting out stupid decisions. RG3 was his cash-cow, his most promising player in decades, and he watched him blow his knee on his own shoddy turf.

I remember when he banned signs in the stadium. The guy is a bozo.
