[News] 5 Ravens Changes From Last Denver Game

98 posts in this topic

As long as our D plays like they did in the first game and our offense starts off good not going 3 and out multiple times in a row prologing drives keeping Peyton off the field and not turning the ball over we will be good to go and I believe we will win no doubt. This Ravens team is one of the most talented I've seen from us and I still stand by it. Injuries have had there toll on us but this team has fought hard all season long no matter who has stepped in. This is not going to be easy but this game is the reason why we all watch football and when the Ravens win it's going to be a moment in this teams History because no team has been through what this team has been through. I just can't wait as a fan to see it all unfold and see the story that has been written.

Same old talk. Flacco needs to stop overthrowing his receivers and to start stepping up into the pocket when possible. Another problem is the receivers not being able to break away from the defenders enough. My thinking is if it isn't time to look at the receivers coach. Is he doing his job to the best of his ability. Lots of questions and no definitive answers. Let's see what Flacco is made of this weekend in Denver. He can't beat Manning. Fact!

One problem I foresee in this game, the Zebras. I just hope they are fair. The last few games there has been some really bad calls go against us. Two bad calls in the Colts game, Pollards penalty on a perfectly good hit and the fumble that WE recovered but was never reviewed. I thought all turnovers are reviewed now, if it helps the Ravens, they change the rules. Come on man! I just want a fair fight and I believe we will win. HIt Peyton early and often!

I agree with cappy. Manning against flacco. Flacco can not win. Their defense is much beeter than ours. We don"t match up well. It will be almost impossible to get this win. This is not the Ravens D we are used to having.

As this week goes on, I see fans on here starting to doubt, Myself I am getting excited, Saturday we will have RLewis calling the D plays Ellerbe flying around the field, a healthier and angrier Ngata, a very very improved OLine ( Yanda back, Big Mac at Lt ,other at RT. KO in his natural position) better cohesion between Flacco and Caldwell, Rice will be amped
BPierce, and T Smith should be playing the whole game. So come on Raven nation don't be skeered drink up and let's tame those broncos. Yee Haw. Go Ravens!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay Pees we don't have Tom Brady so we cant have a shootout. Better blitz Manning or he will pick us apart.
Did you not watch the AFC Championship game last year... or the game against the Pats this year for that matter? Flacco outplayed Tom Brady in both games. Flacco can have a shootout with the best when the team gels. He's done it before and can do it again.

Same old talk from some of our fans. Flacco is a good QB and the Ravens have a good team. Manning is Manning that is for sure BUT he can be had. I am sure the Ravens will give their all and they CAN win. Go Ravens.

One thing alot of teams in the NFL know. Ravens are a physical team. ask Patriots and Ask the steelers. They will vouche for us. Denver won't roll over either. ALl I'm saying is, just as article states. The Ravens are a total different team than the team in Week 15, where Flacco hurried throws since protection wasn't best. The general wasnt in the game, I think the Ravens played Josh Bynes and Ayenbandejo MLB. Our Defense held Manning to his lowest passing game all season even when his team was hot. If we had Pollard and Lewis, we could have had more tackles to stop that 145 rushiung they had.

Ball So Hard University is simply in session.. Go Ravens

I'm already looking past this week. We got this. The Ravens will win by 14 points. So I'm more concerned about who we will face next the pats or the texans. We beat both before. I choose Pats! We will intercept manning twice and flacco will have his yearly one good game. I'm not even worried about losing because we are not rested that is and advantage. indy will be complacient and cocky. And Upset trust me

You beat the Denver Mannings with pressure, Keep manning on his heels. We've done it before and will do it again. As long as we don't resort to prevent D only rushing 3 that dosn't prevent anything against Manning we will win. Flacco has had a lot of great games. Brady would look like crap behind our O line the way they were playing. So, give the Flacco crap a break I'm tired of hearing it from people who clearly don't understand the game.

To me , Manning lost his credability when he took a retired players number. It doesn't matter what the guy said, to Manning about it, It was plain disrespect and selfishness. Karma is a big dog that when it bites it tends to have a shredding effect. Payton, you are one classless individual..........just sayin'

Caw710 your wrong. Flacco is our weakest link. So get use to it. No matter how you spin it or how knowlegable you "think" you are. Laughable.

No doubt about it Manning is very very good. But last I looked Denver is not undefeated so they can be had. Two things need to happen for the Ravens to win this game. Stop the run! As with most teams, running effectivly sets up play action and Manning is very good at finding his recievers. Run Rice and Pierce and if they are effective, (i believe they will be), mix in screens and slants. That should open up the seam for Pitta and the deep ball for Smith, Boldin and maybe Jones. I guess since my observations are geared on the O and D, Lets add the third phase. Special teams. It will be important to block and tackle so Manning gets a long field to work with an Jones to give the Ravens a short field. Thats it. Easy peasy.

I read the the blogs alot, and usually I agree with you rayvens5252,I'm not going to change your mind and not trying too. Our weekness this season has been the line of scrimage, both O and D. I'll add play calling to that also.As I was saying about manning, you got to keep presure on him, and Flacco has seen alot of that. I admitt he has had some bad games but there are alot of variables to that. It's like saying Ray Rice is our weekest link because he fumbled twice. There is no one in the league I would trade Flacco for.

Actually, If I had to pick the weekest link, it would be Michael Oher at left tackle. Thankfully he's much better on the right. He was a major facter in the losses against the Squeelers and Denver.

Matt Flynn, of the Seattle Flynn's, There are some Matts out there I would have expected you to say, like Schab or Ryan. Has he even started a game this season?

Our O-Line has got to protect Flacco if we have any chance of winning this game. If you look at all the games this year, when they protect Flacco, he plays like an Elite QB. When they don't protect him, he plays poorly. If we give him time, he can make things happen. We also need to run the ball somewhat productively to control the clock. We have to keep Peyton off the field, along with our Defense. Sustaining drives will be big, our defense will not be able to play 80 snaps and we win the game this week. Defensively, if we get pressure on manning, and stop the run, i like our chances. If we get them to FG's and not TD's, we will win. I think we have a good chance, but nobody else believes. Let's do this.

And we didn't mention that we didn't have Ed Dickson as well last time. If we get pressure in Mannings face he is not mobile and he is afraid of hits so he crumbles. He is inaccurate long and his arm is still weak. He throws a lot of timing and come back routes which are hard to defend but offer more of a chance for interceptions cause the pressure will cause errors and the ball is in the air so long. Flacco will have time with the o-line change and he needs to get his passes down and be more accurate. I like Pierce, he is well-rested and Rice seems a little tired. Also, I would rather see Jacoby Jones than Tandon Doss in the passing formations. I like Doss but now is not the time to say "my bad" you have to make the darn catches, our JV defense in the last game held Manning to four three and outs in the first half, the most for the year so I definitely think our D can hold and our O can score. We are better and healthier on both sides of the ball and Caldwell is getting to his stride so I wouldn't be so eager to crown the Denver Bronco's just yet.

Could we ALL please give up the word ELITE with Flacco? Everytime he has a good game we throw that word around. He's playing better as well as the defense. Let's worry about the team as a whole instead trying to justify if he is Elite or not. Matt Ryan, Matt Shaub, Joe Flacco, Phillip Rivers, etc. are great QB's, but not Elite. You shouldn't even think about saying that word until you start performing a high levels in the SUPER BOWL!

I didn't say he WAS ELITE. I said he plays like an Elite QB when he has protection. He is not elite, he has to prove consistency before i even consider him Elite. And i agree, when he puts up big numbers and takes us to the super bowl, we can start considering it, but i did not say he was Elite

%u201CWe%u2019re going down there with all of our weapons and all of our tools,%u201D safety Ed Reed said. %u201CAnd we%u2019re coming to bang.%u201D

I like the mentality, but hopefully Reed doesn%u2019t get another "drive-extending" 15 yard personal foul "bang". For the 3 or 4 Reed has got his year, I don't know whether to be frustrated at Reed, the refs, or the commentators.

People don't realize that? So only YOU knew that Indianapolis plays in a dome...thanks for the info...
Because YOU didn't understand what i was trying to say let me put it in lame mans terms for you... People who believe Peyton will just destroy us this weekend fail to become fully aware of the fact that Peyton has always played in a dome or warm weather venues in the playoffs which can hinder his play in this up coming game... I hope that cleared things up for you and your welcome for the info

I hate to break it to you, but our weakest link is the O-Line. When they play well, Joe plays well, when they don't he doesn't. And please, challenge my knowledge of the Ravens, Joe, O-Line or FOOTBALL! I doubt you have sat and watched more plays and tape on Joe than I have. I record every game, not just to watch the game, but to see where the weaknesses are and what to expect while watching next game. Another big problem, receivers not getting separation. Cam's playbook is a friggin joke, and until Caldwell has the opportunity to make his own, or if Baltimore gets Norv Turner, don't expect much to change. Every play, the receivers are getting jammed up, or have a defender, or two, on their hip. Where can Joe go with the ball then?! I understand you are a pessimistic person, but you are starting to sound like Skip Bayless. Sit back, watch the games CLOSELY, and you will see what impact the O-Line has on his play.

Another weakness to go along with my last post, the secondary. If some of you haven't noticed, the secondary, mainly CBs, are playing 8-10 yards back on every play, allowing quick comebacks, slants, outs, ins, curls, etc. The only thing them playing deep is good for is the deep ball. But with Reed and Pollard in the back, the CBs don't need to play deep on EVERY PLAY! I'm sure everyone who has been watching this year knows what I'm saying. Heck, it showed up last week when Luck hit SEVERAL quick passes on slants that weren't contested due to the defenders playing back. When the Denver game comes around, they need to bump and jam those receivers. Get them uncomfortable and MAKE. THEM. WORK. Same thing my coach always said, gotta make receivers work for their routes. Give them space, they will get open, jam them, they get antsy, or too aggressive. Get in their heads, aggravate them, force THEM into mistakes.
