Agree w post below, best thing about Pierce is that we have Rice in his prime. In about two years Pierce will be in his prime and we are lucky to have two beast RBs for years to come.

I see the Ravens taking it to the Broncos this weekend!

Ryan Mink, please also write about what's different for the Broncos vs 3 weeks ago. Good to know exactly who we're beating.

GoldRaven...

No person who has ever watched football would EVER think that Jared Gaither should be a member of this team. However lazy we think McKinnie is, Gaither is ten times lazier. He quit on his teammates, milked injuries, and will be dismissed from a Chargers team with huge talent issues on the offensive line. The Chargers voluntarily elected to start a undrafted free agent at LT to protect Philip Rivers rather than playing Gaither, even when he was healthy.

That guy is the definition of the word cancer, and no Ravens fan should ever want him on this team.

And there's no chance any respectable franchise would pay over $15 million a season for two guards, which is what we would have done if we elected to keep Grubbs and Yanda.

If you want both of this team, you would likely have to remove Flacco or Ray Rice from it. Good luck with that.

@ T-ray, they were roommates and remain close friends. There will be none of that ; just old fashioned Ravens defense.

Trust me GoldenRaven, I wanted Gaither to come back healthy years ago, but after seeing him give other teams the same issues that he gave this team I am glad he is gone.

This is easy for me to figure out.No dumb penalties, play smart football on all levels, use both backs, move Flacco around, dominating defense.Tell me what you think!

We been here before not with Broncos but with NE and i think we did pretty well. If our line on both side can hold up O-line with keep rusher off and D-line with lil bit extra rush on we have a great chance. hold their running game and keep ball front of us with GOOD tackling we can walk outta there champs. Plus we are battle tested... LET'S GO RAVENS TIME TO WRITE SOME HISTORY!!!

It's ideal Rice had his self-assessed 'worst game of the season' on Sunday. Timing couldn't be better for Bang on Saturday.

The Broncos stonewalled our running game period. If we can get both Rice and Pierce rolling, and keep Peyton off the field, we will win this game.

The Ravens must turn into the RAY-vens this Saturday. 9 pt underdogs----WE CAN'T WIN!! HA! Von Miller can be slowed down if the 0=line does it's job. Ray Ricew can get quick screens and runs between the tackles so that Joe will get time, off play action fakes ,trusting our recievers more than ever before. No Cam "statue" in the pocket bombs away. Quick routes that beat the rush, seam routes to the TEs on isolated LBs. Never throw those outs inside the red zone and don't give Champ Baily any respect,go after that old man,no way he covers Torrey man to man on the outside. The RAY-vens can beat the Broncos, It's great Ray will be out there win or lose. It is time Joe "ELITE" earned that big contract. Baltimore 37-Denver 23 going to Houston to even up that score too.

That interception changed the game last time! The Defense stopped Peyton a couple of times but, the Offense didnt answer the Bell the first time around! This time will be Totally different because Caldwell was just getting his Feet wet when he faced them the first time! Now that he has film on them, need I say more! Joe was PUMPED Sunday! Never seen him like that! Ray had me going but Joe, got me Beating My Chest Ova here!

If the Ravens play as well as they can then I don't think this game will be close. Think about it; if every player on the Ravens squad puts his best out there and every player on the Broncos team puts his best on the field, the Ravens will win this game easily. Apples for apples, the Ravens clearly have the better team, they just need to play like it.

roamingcharges...

It's a bit naive and homerish to think that apples for apples we are better than them.

Objectively, the Broncos are better than the Ravens at the following positions:

QB, WR, Offensive Line, Pass rushers, CB. I don't think anybody would argue that the Broncos are better in those areas.

That does not, however, mean that the Ravens can't win, because there's basically never been a football game in history where every single player has played up to their maximum level at same time, nor will there ever be a game like that.

One thing for sure. We were not going to win a Superbowl with Oher at LT . With all of the above said we( and Flacco ) still have to show we can play well and win on the road against a quality team in the playoffs . When was the last time we beat a quality team on the road? 2001?

@Arizona- Give Oher time to sit at the position and work on his timing and footwork at the position, he will be ok. How many times has he been flip flopped between LT and RT in his career, and this year? Two completely different styles for each side, two different requirements.

In order for the Ravens to win against the Broncos the following needs to happen:

1. O-Line MUST give Joe time to step back, read the play and make the pass. Having Flacco run around as soon as he gets the ball will not work.

2. Rice and Pierce have to swap carries, often. The thin air will take a toll on them as they are not accustomed to it, I wouldn't be surprised to see a bit of Anthony Allen in the mix as well.

3. Caldwell needs to find a way to get his receivers some separation. I know it's a difficult task as he is still working with Cam's playbook, but it is required. Can't always rely on Boldin going up and forcing the ball into his own hands, at some point, it will back fire. Think the Broncos aren't gameplanning against that?

4. Press coverage. Get the secondary into the receivers' faces, and jam them at the line. Payton will pick apart soft coverage all game, Luck did the same, imagine Payton seeing Cary playing 8 yards off the ball. Jam, punch the receivers and get them off their routes. Make them WORK!

5. Pass rush/run defense. Payton cannot sit in the pocket all day or he will find a big play. Gotta get to him early and often, make him uncomfortable. He's not very mobile, he will take more sacks than Luck if they get the same pressure. Run defense has to improve before the second half. Payton having a run game is about as dangerous as a pyromaniac with a canister of gas and a book of matches.

I agree with everything Ravens4life says . I've always said you win when you can pressure their QB and protect your QB. If we can do this and have our receivers utilize the middle of the field and not waste plays on 40yd incompletions we can prevail!
