And to think a coach would tell Ray to not do it. That would be like taking down Mr. Boh or the Domino sign.

Why would you attempt to ban the dance that wouldn't of gotten Harbaugh started off in the graces of he fans thats for sure

I got very emotional yesterday watching Ray... And it wasn't only the "squirrel dance". It was that he was able to come back in there after not playing on the team since October and score 13 tackles, almost 2 picks, and a forced fumble... Not to bad for a 37 year old linebacker...

I am going to miss Ray soooooo much. Been a Ravens fan since 1996... It's gonna be a tough thing to swallow.

No doubt there'll be a strange emptiness in M&T next year without this legend.

To that end - how absolutely wonderful would it be if one, some, or ALL the Raven players they introduce in next years opener come out doing the Squirrel dance!?

Just to re-assure Balmore that Ray's legacy will live on.

I would have given an arm and a leg to be at that last game just to see Ray do the dance. I can imagine even the Seahawks stadium wouldn't have been able to reach our sound capacity.

Can't stand the Victor Cruz salsa dance, and don't really like most celebrating. That said, I think Ryan Mink got this one right. With Ray, it's not about him. You never got that feeling. It was always about getting the fans, and the team pumped up for the game. It was always about a "signature" move, by a legend, and never self-serving, Look at me type of thing.....Never thought I'd say it, but I totally agree, we will miss that dance. I will miss seeing him at the bank, and being part of the crowd just going nuts!!!

me to brah! what a day! i have mixed emotions running through me about Ray's retirement. on one hand...i am happy that Ray will get the opportunity to spend time with his family and watch his boys do their football thing. on the other hand...i will miss not having my favorite and the "ultimate" Raven that i've been cheering for since 96' on the field playing again. much like Ray, i've given my blood, sweat and tears (of fanhood) to him and the Ravens for nearly 20 years. Ray's retirement is the end of an era...an "old school" era. players like Ray don't come around often. i just hope that our present and future Ravens will continue to hold up the standard defensively and to step it up offensively to keep this legacy going. bye Ray! it is going to be strange and weird (at first) viewing the Ravens play an ENTIRE season without you on the field. wow! but thank you sir fall all of the great memories that i will cherish forever as a Ravens fan! peace!

That was the beat part of winning. When we win in Denver, I hope Ray does it again.

I would like to see the originator of the squirrel dance do the dance. Have Ray and him do it side by side. As little as this dance may seem to some, it brought a lot of energy to our Ravens. He should be acknowledged. Can we make this happen?
