52, 75 & 3 should be the only 3 numbers that should and will be retired. I'm skeptical on # 20 but for sure 52, 75 and 3 should be retired.

Skeptical on one of if not the greatest Safety to ever play? The first ballot HOFer? If you retire 75 and 3 you HAVE to do the same for Reed, no question.

Lets not get carried away.
Retire too many numbers and we will have to start using decimal points and stuff.

I see three options
1. Never retire any numbers ever
2. Retire #52 and that's it
3. Retire #s 52, 20, 3, and 75 and any future first ballot HOFers

#3 IMO. They all deserve it, and nobody will probably ever wear those numbers again anyway on our team.

Eh, I think the only jersey that should be retired is Ray Lewis'. Here's my logic:
Lewis defined our team since he arrived and played here his entire career, which was 17 years. Reed is a future Hall of Fame S, same for JO. But...I just can't justify retiring their jersey. They didn't define our identity like Lewis did.

So, for me only 52 would be retired.

But I am not really big on retiring jersey #s anyway. I think there is some pride in wearing the jersey of a Lewis, pride to meet the expectations he set.

Ray Lewis jersey sales top in NFL since he announced his retirement
Fanatics.com says sales of Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis jerseys are No. 1, just ahead of Denver quarterback Peyton Manning

By Chris Korman, Baltimore Sun

Sales of Ray Lewis’ jerseys have risen nearly 2,000 percent since he announced his retirement, according to Fanatics.com data

Since then, Lewis’ jersey is the top-selling NFL jersey for the online retailer, right ahead of – wait for it – Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.

That wouldn't be fair to any "Lewis" who wanted to join the team! We've had great success with Jamaal and Ray, so why stop there?

Yes, I know who number 3 was. He's just not on the level that Ray and Ogden are on.

Thanks, Sherlock.

Just don't see Stover's impact being so great that his number should be retired.

Meh, idk..... If it were up to me we would give Ray a freaking satue, retire his number, and give him a whole section in M&T Bank like they did with Unitas.

Ray and Ogden would be the only ones retired and if Joe wins a few SBs maybe him

Ogden and Lewis should have their numbers retired but that opens up the floodgates. What about Reed? How long before people ask for every star to be retired? Heap? J.Lewis?

Ray Lewis deserves all the honors available but as we havent done it yet I kind of hope we do not. I think I can see a statue going up really soon.

Only 5 teams haven't retired numbers, all but 1 of them being AFC teams. They are the: Raiders, Ravens, Jaguars, Texans and Cowboys.

What?!? That's crazy talk.

All 3 of them are arguably the best to ever play their position and most definitely top 5.

Ed seems to never get all the respect he deserves, even from Ravens Nation.

It's always been retired in my mind. Because every year on madden when Ray goes I never allow anyone to wear it, if they drafted with the number or sign with the number I change it.

that is how "those" organization choose to operate. i highly doubt that the Ravens owner and front office will allow Ray Lewis' #52 jersey to be worn by any other player. Ray is the last of the "ORIGINAL" Ravens from back in the day in 96'. and we all know what he means to the franchise, city of baltimore and the Ravens fans worldwide. IF anything..they need to not only retire his jersey but to also put a statue of him out front of M&T Bank Stadium to serve as a reminder of his greatness in playing the game!

I hereby commision the erection of the Ray Lewis National Monument!
