2013 NHL Season

What, I thought you were talking bout St. Louis! Anyway, they won 4 unanswered against STL, which is absolutely unacceptable.

I knew once they lost in game 5, they were going to lose game 6. Horrendous, the Kings outplayed them, which they shouldn't have.

So far I've gathered the following:

1) Henrik Lundqvist is a monster

2) The Capitals can't seem to ever do it when the season's on the line

3) The Bruins always seem to have some luck up their sleeves

The Rangers are up 5-0, and none of the goals have been scored by Nash, Richards, or Clowe - ridiculous.

WAS has one of the best goalies in the league and their defense is still bad!

Well I think the biggest problem is that, for some reason, Ovechkin, even though I hate to say it, is like the Alex Rodriguez or Peyton Manning of the NHL - the guy is on his way to being an all time great in the regular season, but is nowhere in the postseason.  Hate to call him out, but he is the Superstar, and 2 points in 7 games is just unacceptable, even if you are playing against the best goaltender in the league.

His contract is equally gargantuan, too.

The Rangers also limit opportunities to score in transition, which is how Ove got a lot of his goals.  They were going to be one of the tougher matchups for the Caps regardless.

Did you watch the same series as I did? He can't do it all, I demand more out of Majo and Backstrom. Everytime he had the puck he already had 2 or 3 guys on him.

He carried the team to the playoffs, just didn't have enough weapons. Backstrom and Ribero (if he comes back) need to shoot more. Can't believe we traded Forsberg for Erat....

WAS needs better defenders.

Of course he carries them to the playoffs, and yes he can't do it alone, but the fact remains that over his career he's been ice cold in the playoffs.  2 points in seven games is not what I expect of Alex Ovechkin.  Yes it doesn't help that Ribeiro, Brouwer, Backstom, and Green all decided to also take a vacation.  And I agree trading Philip Forsberg for a 31 year old winger who's never reached 60 points in a season might be something the Capitals regret.  But the fact remains that Ovechkin is THE BEST PLAYER IN THE NHL in the regular season -  2 points in seven games is still unacceptable to me, even if he is playing against the best goaltender in the world.

I hope Toronto can upset Boston in the playoffs - provided the game hasn't been skated yet.

I say this because the Leafs have been through enough over the past years - since their last Stanley Cup winner, in 1967.

What say you of this?

A player with 61 points in 58 career playoff games is..."ice cold" ?

Couldn't disagree more

20 bucks says Boston will win 5-4.

Game was on last night, Boston won

Rangers beat the Capitals in the playoffs once again, this time in a blowout!

This is not the worst I have seen....They blew 3-1 series leads to the Pens a couple of times.

The Caps have to be some of the worst chokers in recent memory. Look if you lose the game, you lose the game. But to lose like that is just embarrassing.

Turns out Ovechkin was playing with a broken foot, I doubt the media will cut him any slack though.

To be fair, he's always choked in the playoffs.  Still, that's Tebow-esque.

Crazy that NYR lost despite a hat trick from Stepan.  Llundqvist had 45 saves, but ultimately couldn't withstand the barrage.

That team can't score at all when it matters.  The only reason they ever make the playoffs is because Lundqvist keeps them above .500 and they are able to scratch their way in - last year as the 1 seed was a fluke that will not happen anytime soon.  Boston is just too deep, although I think the Pens are going to blast them because they're deeper everywhere except the net.

Hate to say it, but the Pens look like this years winners by far. The only team who might have a chance at beating them are the Kings, but that's a lose-lose for me...
