The beacons are lit, the NHL has called for it's players to come back. The season should start on either the 15th for a 50 game season or the 19th for a 48 game season according to sources.
So glad this nonsense is over with and we won't have to deal with it for another 10 years!

That's what I like about football! We don't need any more of this 82-game non-sense! It's expensive enough traveling and maintaining stadiums as it is and the NHL just ended a lockout, so clearly everyone should watch their purse.

I just can't get enthused like the lockout never happened. Will be happy to see the Flyers back on the ice, though I will admit.

I'm ready for a full 82 game season. Let's see what Oates can do.
No, the season is way too damn long! All these meaningless extra games just mean more opportunities for players to get hurt and more revenue lost for the struggling franchises.

even with games played every 2-3 days, i can't see it being more than a 50 games season

Double headers would solve this dilemma.
they would but teams would get tired to be playing them... more prone to injuries perhaps... and then the game itself will lose its quality
