Not so much Denver fans, as Peyton Manning you-know-what huggers. They are right about those penalties and no-calls that went against Denver though, BUT (and it's a big BUT) their bias shows in the fact that they don't mention any (not one) of the BS calls that went against the Ravens, nor either of the questionable spottings of the football that helped Denver get a first down. Despite the fact that it was a classic, it wasn't a very well officiated game at all.
Yeah, I think the game could of been even better if it wasn't consistently held back by the officiating. Who knows who would have won (It's clear either team could have with a game this close), but it definitely leaves a sour taste with how bad it was.

Hope to get another one like this next week.

I'm willing to bet somebody will have posted about this already but did anyone see the pic of Manning with his kid talking to Ray Lewis after the pressers? He had to wait 20' for Ray to finish the interviews just to congratulate him on a great win and an even greater career. Great gesture by him.
Class act, especially after such a brutal loss. This is probably why Peyton is in a bazillion national commercials and Brady is in none. You think Brady would do that next week if the Ravens win? Not a chance. He'll head straight for the locker room.

Yup. Broncos need to execute and they didn't.
I can't even name all the times when we play the Pats, we get nailed with head-scratching calls (specifically on Brady - There is about a square inch on his body that we are allowed to touch when we play apparently). Many of the calls put us in unfair positions. But I can also name countless plays where the Ravens didn't execute in the game to even allow the bad call to come into relevance.

Bad officiating is just another factor. Just like weather, turnovers, inches, etc. There are usually a ton more missed opportunities than there are bad calls.

Hahaha. These were the first words that came out of my mouth once the result started to sink in.

My younger brother after the game was like 'We need to have a football hug'. Everybody started hugging everybody. Ah the joys of football. It literally felt like an actual epic battle. The emotional rollercoaster that we all went through today did a toll on everyone.

He had that dumb one for some car company where they were listing all the steps to building a car and one of them was "get celebrity endorsement" and he'd say "me?"

He's not that good of an actor though. Both Ray and Peyton are great actors. I loved that one with Ray where the little girl is asking him all the silly questions.

Good read. I love Von Miller. I've kept saying this whole week, that Von Miller is the type of guy that makes me miss picking in the top 10. That level of talent with character is hard to come by.

Yeah he's a class act. He's got a veteran's humility.

Kudos to Peyton for his sportsmanship! It was a real treat seeing 2 future Hall of Famers having a respectful chat after the game!

The only thing that disappoints me about the win is that I can't shave my playoff beard. I hate the beard because it itches like crazy, but I can't bring myself to shave because of my superstitious tendencies.

Another interesting thing from this game. Apparently, the refs aren't supposed to let you kick a practice field goal on the field. There's no official penalty, they're just supposed to not let you do it.

Looks like there was some discussion at to whether Tucker's practice kick in OT was legal:

http://network.yardbarker.com/nfl/article_external/did_ravens_kicker_breaks_nfl_rule_before_kicking_game_winning_field_goal/12644932

Pereira clarifies that it is not illegal. No penalty. They are not supposed to do it, refs are supposed to catch it and not allow it. But much like the Decker call, it technically breaks no rules.

Literally the same time. Funny.

I thought that practice kick was weird. I'd imagine a lot of kickers would take them if they could.

Might as well if you can. There seemed to be a lot of commotion during that break (not just the kick). The refs were probably preoccupied with one of the coaches yapping in their ears.

I gotta admit though. I don't remember this head ref from any game EVER. Who the hell was he. I know my refs pretty well but I don't know if he's ever called a Ravens game.

Supposedly he hasn't officiated since 07.

Flacco and the gang won't have to worry about the cold anymore! It's going to be 50 degrees tomorrow in Foxboro and of course it never gets cold in NOLA!

For this game we wanted extreme weather. Extreme weather tends to even the playing field. But against the Pats, we want nice weather. Because extreme weather the Pats dominate in (only team I know like it).

Here is how I envision us winning the game. Flacco closes his eyes and throws a bomb for the win!

Yes Flacco is depicted by that kid!

Flacco's QBR (ESPN 0-100) went from 89.5 down to 75.8. I guess according to ESPN, Flacco had a barely above average game. What a crock.

Hey Denver cry babies, the refs werent at all the reason you lost. Take the defeat like men and move along. We made more big plays on crucial moments. Torrey Smith BURNED Champ Bailey not once, but twice. Speaking of PI calls...how was that PI against Carey Williams a PI??? That extended your drive and led to a Denver td that gave you a 35-28 lead late in the 4th...you BLEW IT. Hahaha. Then the Broncos were unable to ice the game with 2min left and gave us one last shot..which we BURNED you again w/ a 70yd bomb to Jacoby Jones...Tie game. Then in OT, you had us inside our own 10..but failed to contain us, let us change field position..then Coreh Graham picked Manning..for a second time to put us in position to win it.

To say that the.refs blew it is insane. We beat you, plain and simple..eat it..taste it..love it..goodbye and good night

Thanks for the link.
Kinda sums up how WE felt last year - and then losing so many key players to FA...

Miller is a consumate pro with a lot of career ahead of him. And Peyton is pure class as a human being.
Props to you and your team, great game.
