Divisonal Playoffs @ Denver

1,355 posts in this topic

Driving home from the game. I cried about 10 times today, and I haven't even followed Ray Lewis for his whole 17 years. Just seeing how dedicated that man is to football, but knowing that he's more dedicated to family (hence the choice obviously) made it all so bittersweet today!

And now that we know it's officially Denver, when do you think the guys would fly out? Thursday to get acclimated to Denver and the time zone change, or the normal day before game (Friday)? Is there an advantage to either one?

both teams are good. a quick start is key like you said. we got blown out the first time. flacco will learn from his mistakes from the first game. for some reason i am not sold on denver. manning makes the whole team look better. win or lose it doesnt matter i'm still not sold on denver. granted they got defensive play makers and offensive play makers, but i dont think there as good as there record. whats gonna save them in the playoffs is having home field. if the broncos played wild card weekend they get eliminated. i'm not hating i'm just tired of hearing broncos are the best team in the nfl.
I just hope your team thinks we aren't that good either. :)

ESPN disagrees too (the fans that vote). 53% think the Broncos are the team in the AFC with over 20,000 votes.

Hey congratulations Baltimore fans!

Was hoping to start a thread on this but I see your forums have a limitation rule. Respectable, wish ours was a bit similar but no complaints.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Mike, clearly from Denver Colorado and one of the biggest Bronc supporters out there! I've been a frequent viewer of the boards around here. Now and then of course. But with such a big game coming up; I wanted to start my own account here. So cheers!

You guys did it, nailed it into the post season and started by taking out Indy. Which one way or another they won 10 games in the AFC and are a legitimate contender no matter what way you slice it. Out of all the playoff teams Denver could potentially face Baltimore was the one I wished to do so the least.. Granted the Pats are a scoring machine but their O-line is not what it once was and their secondary is still kinda weak.. All together the Ravens are in my opinion the most complete team both offensively and defensively truly didn't want to play you guys again.. I was happy with beating' ya once.. in fact. I hate playing Baltimore; you guys always seem to beat us. Anyways I just wanted to make some light conversation with y'all. Congrats on the big win today and good luck next week. It should be a good game, hope its injury free and hope Peyton can pull out another an ya.

Cheers guys. We're in the post season.
Wow are you kidding me? Denver is the most complete team. The Raven D is far from what it once was and even then Manning had pretty good success on them.

Lol, Broncos fans getting mad at each other here. I wouldn't be surprised if either team wins, really.

My brother-in-law's girlfriend is a media person for Denver Broncos football. I fully anticipate not talking to him, or allowing my husband to, until after the Ravens beat the Broncos next Saturday afternoon. ;D

But in all seriousness, I am not putting any guesses on this game. Odds say the Broncos will likely win, but odds are meant to be defied to, so...

So, what would be the fastest way of fixing the OLine? If the Ravens have a hard time containing the Colts pass rush, what are they planing to do with the Broncos defenders?

Over the years I've come to terms that Broncos fans have been the worst on this board. Now they'll be coming with hot heads w/ their #1 seed team. I feel a potential burn.

Run the ball. Keep Manning off the field. Didn't work so well last time because we were without our best run blocker, Yanda.

David beat Goliath with a sling and a stone. We're going to beat Manning with some Rice and a stingRay. :D

A week off, it'll be in the 20s come game time. Lets see if the Broncos can come out hot. A week off hasn't exactly been kind to top seeds over the years.

We are coming to Denver in playoff mode, with an emotional D. We'll make it a game.

Oh, I don't think we're too bad :-)
Clearly you haven't played the Raiders too much. Or the Patriots fans, who crap smells like cinnamon buns.

Seriously though, I'm looking forward to a good matchup. Good defensive teams are hard to beat in the playoffs, and I don't expect this will be an exception.

Our best weapon against the Colts was the pass. And the Broncos Run D is no slouch either.

It was. But our passing game has never been our strength on this road this year. Our O-Line struggles with the noise and our passing game usually gets stumped. We have to be able to move the ball on the ground on the road.

He also saved the game out in San Diego; a game that...if lost instead..who knows how the season would have gone/turned.. It'd be one less win if nothing else.

I would not be surprised if you beat the Broncos.
The Broncos are the most over hyped, ESPN Kool aid team in the NFL.

The Texans, Falcons, and Patriots all imposed their will all over Denver this season.
Denver only beat the Ravens (their one decent win all season) when Baltimore was in a complete state of dysfunction, with injuries and offensive coordinators.

Denver plays in the AFC West, which is by far the most pathetic division in football, and many of their performances, against teams like the 2-12 Chiefs and the lolRaiders, weren't that impressive offensively.

I believe Denver is an overrated football team that has an 11 game winning streak against the absolute bottom feeders of the NFL. Every other good team in the NFL dominated Denverand had the games over by the 3rd quarter.
Peyton has historically laid eggs in post season games. Even his Superbowl run was diminished by the fact he only had 3 touchdown passes and seven interceptions. You drag Peyton into a post-season dog fight and he could crumble and have a 3 pick day.

Their defense and team is also very young, and the lights get too bright for some teams in the real football season.

If Ravens defense has one more Raven-style game in them and the worst Flacco doesn't show up, I say Denver gets upset in their own stadium.
Either that or they didn't watch the game. Dierdorf had to mention that 5,000 times. He even was complimenting Flacco for his speed on his game ending pick 6.

Ahh ahh, you know the rules: you don't say his name out loud, and you NEVER say it three times.
