After looking at various draft projections and big boards, I am getting concerned that our most needed positions may not have viable draftees at for our first pick. This is either because they won't work in Baltimore, overhyped skill set and/or that several teams have similar needs to us. The ten teams picking before us could arguably be in the market for players of our top needs. We will be selecting somewhere in the 23-32 range. I believe our needs on defense are CB,NT,ILB,FS,SS,DE

DEFENSE
CB Tharold Simon 6'2 193
FS Bacarri Rambo 6'0 210
ILB Alexander Ogletree 6'3 234
DE Datone Jones 6'4 275
CB Sanders Commings 6'1 216
NT Daniel McCullers 6'8 360
SS Robert Lester 6'2 212

While I agree with the needs, cb and ss would be more a depth need than a starter. The others, with maybe the exception of de if jones keeps playing well will need to be starters.

I would put NT as BAL's 1st priority in the draft. We must add depth to the position filled by Cody and Kemoeatu.

Considine isn't a starter pollard is so we don't need a SS starter and Webb and Graham would be starters and hopefully Jimmy improves enough to start so CB is also depth since behind Graham, Webb, and Jimmy we have Asa and Chykie.

Our salary cap situation is very troublesome-- lots of change coming this off-season. Barrett Jones would be a great 1st round selection to shore-up the o-line and take care of the center position with Gino. After that...BPA for whatever shakes out after FA, could be d-line, ILB or the d-backs. Gonna be interesting the post-Ray team.

I like therod Simon at Cb he does play simular to cary and hes a Corner from Lsu so you know he coached up and better zone guy than cover but i really like Logan Ryan from Rutgers great ball skills and Great cover guy but doesn't get alot credit due to a good Rutgers D. Im sorry but im really not sold on Ogletree he tackles too high for me and that won't do it in the NFL. and i like Datone Jones from UCLA

B,,, What are your sources? I use http://www.cbssports...nkings/2013/all and http://www.drafttek....spects-2013.asp
So tough making "reasonable" predictions given that even the "expert" rating services vary so widely. Anywho...interesting selections; I agree B'more needs to go defense with this draft. But I still like Barrett Jones with the first pick...if he's available.

We definitely don't need a CB in the first.

If it's the right player and the best value, I'm not opposed. There are definitely some concerns at that position. Webb, while a top 5 CB in this league, is coming off another gruesome knee injury. With two surgically repaired knees, we don't know how long it's going to take him to recover, how well he'll be able to cut, or if he'll ever be the same player again. I have high hopes, but after that type of injury it's a legitimate concern. Meanwhile, Jimmy has been less than impressive after some flashes as a rookie. Maybe he gets it together, but getting a lockdown corner, maybe one who falls, could be an ok move.

It's probably not the ideal pick for many of us fans as it doesn't seem like one of the big needs, but I don't think it's out of the question.

Wow .... thanks for copying and pasting what I wrote in my thread. Except I didn't state that those were our needs.

Jenkins maybe? I'm so down for that kid. But Elam and Vacarro are on my mind too. But I'm always suspect of coverage skills at the college level.

I originally stated the exact thing in my thread (B22 thought it would be cool to copy what I said) and I based it on the fact that our absolute top needs may not be able to filled in the first as several teams ahead of us have identical needs. I believe all LTs will be gone, no ILB is worth a first besides Te'o, one safety should be off the board (leaving most likely Vacaroo), few NTs to go around as well and no DEs.
