Indianstick's mock draft

This has to be mainly a defensive draft, getting someone at almost every position on that side of the ball. We are pretty set on offense, especially if they are utilized correctly, so I just went with mainly depth there.
1st Round: Sharrif Floyd UF- DT/DE 6'3 302
Disruptive monster. He did a great job penetrating beyond the line of scrimmage. He has a great balance of stopping the run and apply pressure as a pass rusher. He is that big, strong athletic dlinemen we need next to ngata and jones and then suggs/upshaw coming off the edge. Kemoeato and cody have been a waste of space for the majority of the season. Cody will get one more shot next year to prove he can be a dominant NT. Regardless Sharriff floyd, ngata, jones, would be a really disruptive line.
2nd Round:Tony Jefferson OU- FS 5'11 212
He still hasn't officially declared, and when he was asked a couple days ago he said he hasn't made his decision yet and that he got his draft grade but all he said was "it was cool". Seems like he wasn't happy with it but I don't think he should drop past our second round pick. He played most of this season on a bum ankle (since sept 8th) and still managed to have 113 tackles so the kid has toughness. He has great cover skills and can line up in front of a wideouts or TEs and is great in run support, he can really lay the hammer down. Regardless of whether we retain ed reed or not we need a viable back up just incase he gets dinged up and tony jefferson would be more than good enough. Reminds me a lot of ryan clark.
3rd Round: Gerald Hodges PSU- LB 6'3 237
Ive watched him play the last couple years because my roommates are huge PSU fans. He is very discipline, great in coverage and an above average tackler (109 tackles, 1 sack, 2 INTs, 7 PDs). He reminds me a lot of Navarro Bowman (another PSU 4-3 OLB I was also really high on and who is flourishing as an ILB in the 3-4 defense). He would be our best cover lb and would help the run defense as well. I expect him to man a starting ilb spot early in his career and not let it go, possibly next to ellerbe.
4th Round: Adrian Bushell Louisville- CB 5'11 187
Would be a steal in the 4th. He is a great cover corner and with cary most likely signing else where, bushell would fit perfectly with our young cb group. He had 57 tackles, 1 pick, 13 PDs this season. He has smooth hip action, good footwork and great speed to be able to play tight coverage all over the field. He isn't afraid to stick his nose in run coverage despite his relatively small frame. With webby coming off an ACL, Jimmy struggling to stay healthy and cary not likely resigning with us, Bushell will provide great depth and should be able to emerge as a solid contributor if need be
4th Round compensatory pick: Michael Buchanan Illinois-DE/OLB 6'6 240
Long, quick, athletic pass rusher off the edge. He should be able to add some strength and eventually set the edge but will be a situational pass rusher his first couple years. It is important that we grab someone who will be able to rush the passer from the edge since kruger is a FA and we might not retain him. 57 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, 5 passes broken up
5th Round: Alec Lemon Syracuse- WR 6'2 205
Great hands and strong body, has the ability to get open and make plays with the balls. He does a good job catching balls away from his body and would provide great depth. He has decent speed but isn't a burner. MD native, he should get time on STs first and then make his way on the field catching passes from joe. 73 catches, 1074 yards and 7 tds.
5th Round compensatory pick: Michael Williams Bama- TE 6'6' 269
A pure blocking TE who will position lbs and even dlinemen opening up running lanes. He has pretty good hands but wasn't utilized as a pass catcher at bama. Should be a great 3rd blocking te who could end up being a great red zone target.
6th Round: John Sullen Auburn- OG 6'4 330
I might be the minority around here but I say Oher should get another year as the LT. Has he been elite? no..has he shown flashes of been elite at times? yes..has he been absolutely crap at times? also yes..has he been overall average? yes..is that good enough? probably not. It would be great to draft a franchise LT early, but I don't know if the few ones in this draft will be there for our first, especially with all these teams needing one who are drafting ahead of us. Regardless, we could find our LG of the future with john sullen who is a good pass blocker and a mauler as a run blocker.
7th Round: Joe Vellano UMD- DT/DE 6'2 288
A lot of UMD fans should know about Joe vellano. Does a good job penetrating through the line and is strong against the run and as a pass rusher. 62 tackles, 14 TFL, 5 sacks. He would be a great DE in our defense providing depth to our dline.
Like i said in the intro, I went mostly on D. I don't see the offensive line being that big of a need. I was tempted to pick barrett jones in the first round but I went with sharrif floyd instead to shore up the dline. Our oline has played crappy at times but really well at others. I think the main weakness is LG and it might make sense to flop KO and jah Reid but regardless, harewood, gradkowski, sullen and jack cornell will be solid back ups.

I don't think floyd goes in the first unless there is a run on d line men.
His draft stock has been shooting up the past couple weeks, I would love to grab him with our first

I have either Elam or vaccaro who I'm lead to believe is better round 1.
Floyd round 2
Arthur brown in round 3 with a trade up about 8 picks or so.
Then oline depth

you could be surprised, I think a lot of teams that wanted that smaller athletic linebacker got them last year so I think he falls.I highly doubt floyd makes it to our second and that arthur brown makes it to the third
Either that or he has an amazing combine etc and we'd have to pick him in the first.
Floyd I just think because the dline position is so stacked someone will drop, I think it's him.

Agreed. Floyd will go in the first or early second. Brown could go as high as top 50. Although it's hard to be certain of anything pre-combine.I highly doubt floyd makes it to our second and that arthur brown makes it to the third
I like your draft a lot although im not familiar with a few of the prospects. The only thing I dont like is Jefferson in the second...I think that's too early but I do like his potential.

i like Gerald Hodges and Tony Jefferson but everything else meh. mayde WR/OT/DT first and second-/LB or DE
Haha I went dt in the first..and yeah Gerald hodges is my fav realistic lb for us to get. His draft stock might rise to the second but I would be so excited if we grabbed him in the draft
