Any OC Candidates from Black Monday Fallout?

I know who sounds like a good DC, Lovie Smith. Unfortunately, he's going to be a head coach again next season I believe.

So any OC possibilities out there?
A lot! Norv Turner, Jim Schwatz, Bruce Arians, Kevin Gilbride and Tony Sparano, if you're desperate.

Rex and Rob may be available. Perry Fewell. Ron Rivera. And of course, Romeo Crennel!

Well at least for the first time in awhile, the Ravens don't really have anyone worth interviewing for another team. ;)

They would eat a lot of money if the Lions fired Schwartz. He's not going anywhere.

Not yet, but they're expected too. He's taken the Lions nowhere, despite having a high-powered passing game, the best kicker of our generation and some exciting defensive players. He started off 2-14, then 6-10 and finally took them back to the playoffs at 10-6, but they got knocked out in the 1st round, blown out 45-28. This season, the Lions regressed considerably, going 4-12. A serious slide for a team that made the playoffs just a year ago. His career record is 22-42.

i like what caldwell is doing. remember the majority of the plays are still cam's plays so i'd like to see what he can do with his own scheme and playbook. No need to be discussing OC's right now.

Zorn, anyone?
He might be available! The Chiefs are going to clean house after going 2-14. He'll probably be the 1st to go, what with the horrible job he did with Cassel and Quinn.

Schwartz was a DC. Arians is being considered for head coaching jobs and wouldn't leave one OC job for another. Gilbride hasn't been fired.

I know Schwartz started off as a DC, but he's led one of the most electrifying passing attacks in the league! A far better offensive mind than defensive. And Kevin Gilbride might very well be available come Monday, given the Giants' gigantic regression after winning the Super Bowl just a year ago. Even Manning got way worse.

Jets are keeping Rex as HC but that would have been awesome to have him back in the fold but Romeo Crennel is out there, just a thought.

Caldwell will probably stay as OC because he has done a good job.
It'll depend on the post-season. Not counting yesterday's de facto preseason game, he's 1-1, leading the Ravens to score 17 against a top 5 defense in the Broncos and 33 against the defending Super Bowl champions.

Crennel's a great defensive mind, he just can't coach! And as we've seen in the Chiefs' tragic season, he has the resolve of a warrior.

an interesting stat I heard is Rob has never been a defensive coordinator on a team above .500. Fewell has been linked to head coaching jobs. Rivera is currently meeting with ownership to determine his fate but I think he should be kept.

There big problem is DTs. They're vulnerable in the trenches, which damned them ultimately

I like Crennel as a DC and Ken as an OC. Realistically, though, I don't know if Pees is going anywhere. I think people are a little quick to call for his job. Caldwell could be replaced because we lose someone to be the QB coach.

Flowers had a bunch of injury issues and an illness. Their whole D has been banged up.

As a DC, he would be great, him or Rex. Right now, we need someone who understands the meaning of a Hybrid Front and can utilize all the weapon we still have left and potentially draft to that strength in next years draft. I think Mannings old QB coach could do the job as OC but Pees at this point has not given me alot of confidence that he will be able to stop the good teams we need to stop consistently. We will have to see next year I guess once the team has a full offseason under him.

Ken Wisenhunt?! Arizona's offense was the laughingstock of the league! Even the Jaguars scored a lot more, with an older QB I might add and without a superstar WR like Fitzgerald. Their offensive line was enough to make Jonathan Ogden vomit.

Not having a QB or an offensive line are major problems. That doesnt mean he wouldn't be effective with better weapons and a competent QB.

So Ken was supposed to do better when he had to play 4 QB's with the worst oline in the league all year?

I like what Caldwell's done don't get me wrong this offence is a breathe of fresh air compared to the circus cam was running; however, I'd like to bring in a new PROVEN offensive co-ordinator. I want to see what Joe can do when someone who's proven to be an offensive mastermind like Norv takes the reigns or gives the reigns to Joe (whatever). I don't want to fool around with Caldwell for 3 years and either find out he does a good job or doesn't. We need a good OC, Norv wants to be an OC, and doesn't desire another HC position so I think its a match made in heaven.

It was up to him to improve his offense. A coach must make the most of the players he's got. He couldn't improve his QBs or O-line one iota and you think he has the pedagogy to be an OC elsewhere?

If BAL goes deep into the playoffs, I think you'd have no choice but to hold onto Caldwell, especially given his condensed season. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Caldwell can stay as OC and Zorn can come back as the QB Coach again. This time he doesn't have an ego maniac like Cam that can politic his way to keeping his job.

Just because he did not do well in Arizona does not mean he is a poor coordinator. He was a HC, and it is proven than some coordinators do not transition well to HC. Pagano's defense isn't exactly the best.

Having a bad OL and poor QBs don't translate well for any OC.

We do NOT want Gilbride. My best friend is a hardcore Giants fan. All the fans on their forum call him Kevin Killdrive. Horrible playcalling. If you thought Cam was bad, you don't wanna see Gilbride. Screens on 3rd and long, Goes away from the run faster than Cam did, etc.

As OC, maybe not, but I wouldn't mind sticking with Caldwell as OC and hiring Zorn to be Joe's QB coach. Caldwell would design the schemes, but Zorn really had Joe thinking about footwork and pocket presence in 2010, and had him moving around in the pocket more than any time except his rookie season. And I don't believe either Zorn or Caldwell would have a problem working with the other.

Potential OC/QB coach Candidates in my mind - Jim Zorn, Hue Jackson, Joe Lombardi, Tom Moore. There are probably several others that would be great choices as well.

Whisenhut would make a good OC. I think we should keep Pees.

What makes you think Whisenhunt would do any better in BAL than AZ, where he oversaw one of the worst offenses of the decade?

Getting a little annoyed by the Whisenhunt nostalgia. He went to the Super Bowl with Cardinals because he had one of the best QB-WR tandems in the millenium. I don't want to hear about his Super Bowl win with Bill Cowher. They mostly won because of their defense, a fluke TD pass from Randel-El and horrible officiating.
