Torrey hasnt had a Bowe like season yet, so thats a bit backwards!

It's hard to have a Bowe season when Joe has other options.

Bowe drops a lot of balls and doesn't produce when it's needed, ignoring his character issues. I hope we don't judge Torrey by that standard.

Cruz benefits from having Nicks next to him, Hartline is a good WR 2, but Miami needs everything that they can get.
I can't disagree enough with this statement. Nicks was in and out of the line up all year and was banged up. Cruz still performed.

I was trying to say Bowe is über talented! Doss is not. IK many people who think Bowe has near Torrey Smith talent! Doss would've been taken much higher if not for injuries and having average talent..... Burfict was undrafted, über talented, not comparing draft stock. Trying to say Doss is not nearly as talented as Bowe
wrong again. Why do you think guys like Aaron Curry, Ryan Leaf, The Boz, Tony Mandarich, Jamarcus Russel, etc etc etc all Bust. Because they have talent (obviously) with no work ethic. Then theres guys like Bernard Pierce who has talent, but not much more than the average back, but he works his tail off. Doss has talent which can be refined, just wait and see.

He was the most consistent player on the team! More than Manning, Tynes, Wilson, Bradshaw, Pierre-Paul, Tuck, Omenyiora... everybody!

I don't know why bowe is being called a bum or a slacker...He has no QB and last year had over 1000 yards and the year before he has 15 touchdowns....If that is a bum, what does that make Torrey or Boldin?

Exactly. I just don't get how one can say Cruz is overrated.

A lot of people expected him to fall off after his story-book season last year. He had 1040 receiving yd this season (14th best) and 9 TD (tied for 7th)!

He's called a slacker because he gives up on plays not only that but he drops the most catchable balls in the most important moments. Bowe will have his moments when he looks dominant but whats the purpose of being dominant if you cant be counted on in clutch situations not only that but it's been report that he has some character issues as well.

Hard to blame him for his lack of spirit, given the QBs he's played for this season. *shudder*

Dont sleep on brian hartline. Hes got fantastic moves.

But id also take amendola or cruz anyday
He was #15 in receiving yards this season! Especially impressive, given that his QB is a rookie and their offense is heavily run-oriented!

If I could choose any of them it would be Jennings easily. Cut Boldin, save some money, sign Greg to a 3-4 year contract. That would be nice.

Unrealistic though.

I'm like 99% positive Cruz already signed a extension earlier in the year.
Nope, I just checked. But you can bet your tail off Mara will resign his superstar in the offseason!
Dean Pees has a pretty neat philosophy on this, average athletes with a great work ethic is all he needs becasue those become great role players (Think Corey Redding, or Jarret Johnson) but when you get a great athlete with a great work ethic, well then you have a pro bowler +

Definatley need Linemen, first O-line, then D-line...I know no one wants to hear it but we could trade Ray Rice for some line help and go with Pearce....And who will be the next beast in the middle linebacker spot. We have to think about it.

I doubt many if any of these guys won't be resigned by their current teams.

Purely theoretically, I'd love Hartline or Amendola, they're criminally underrated and could come cheaper, but I don't think GM's underrate them, just fans who only know frontrunner teams, hence wouldn't be available and certainly not cheap.

I think Wallace is the only one whose team might be through with him, but I don't want him. Nothing he brings to the table we don't have in Torrey or Jacoby, really.

Bowe has a Randy Moss attitude, not a hard worker or team player, Jennings is great but maybe starting to slip from age, no way the Giants let Cruz go, barring some team like the Jaguars offers him some ridiculous 10 year, 110 mil contract or something and New York doesn't franchise him.

This is only a discussion if we somehow shore up more important positions like LB, DL, OL, resign Flacco, Ellerbe, Kruger, and others, and still somehow have cap space for free agents. Ain't happening, just getting our guys back will be a victory.

Bowe is a bum, I wouldn't want him. He plays lazily and just doesn't seem to care. You want proof, just rewatch our game against the Chiefs. He dropped 2 passes which we got for INTs for starters.
A change of scenery could be the motivating force he needs (I understand not relishing the thought of Matt Cassel or Brady Quinn as your quarterback), but you're right, the last thing we need is a guy who could decide to shut it down because he doesn't think a game or play is important or that he's being disrespected somehow.

Playing in a losing culture for so long would definitely hurt your mojo! I'm sure Bowe could be set straight by Caldwell's no-nonsense attitude, as well as the Raven's standard of excellence!

I'd rather not pick up a free agent for 2 reasons - 1) we are already very deep at the receiver position in terms of young talent, and 2) I don't think we realistically have the money to resign everyone AND throw cash at a free agent receiver who's going to want a decent payday. I don't think Q will be cut, so we already have him, JJ, and Torrey for next year, along with Doss, Thompson, Streeter, and I believe Reed and LaQuan are both RFAs. There are several solid prospects in the draft that we could snatch up in the 2nd-4th round, and that's the route that makes the most sense to me.

It might, but I'm just saying the big knock on Bowe besides his penchant for dropping passes is that he often lacks motivation. It's something to think about when you're deciding whether to pay a guy the kind of money he'd be after - VJax signed an 11 million dollar deal, and has 4 seasons with 1100+ yards while getting the ball from the likes of Brees, Rivers, and Freeman. Bowe has put up similar numbers while getting the ball from Matt Cassel, Brady Quinn, Brodie Croyle, Damon Huard, and Tyler Thigpen. In my opinion, in terms of talent, Bowe is a better receiver than VJax, or at least as good, so we're talking about a ridiculous amount of money for one player when we have several free agents that need to be brought back - Flacco, Ed, the tight ends, Kruger, LaQuan, Omar Brown, etc.

Thats understandable but at the same time if he was smart he would had played hard regardless because the better he looks on the field the more money he can receive from other teams that will need a wideout. Bowe is coming off a 800 receiving yard season not only that but he was placed on I.r; He will still be the best wideout on the free agent market but I'm sure teams will take note of his lack of motivation/effort on the field and etc .

We really don't need any more receivers. We have Tandon Doss and LaQuan Williams who in my eyes could be superstars if enough balls are thrown their way. We already have speed receivers Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones, plus we have very good options in Deonte Thompson and David Reed. Instead of paying the pricetag for Danny Amendola, I really liked Logan Payne in the preseason who played a lot like him and made some clutch catches. We could always hire him back if we had an emergency. Plus we have Tommy Streeter that we can continue to develop. We are so deep at WR, I wouldn't even consider it.

The Jets were in a similar situation at WR coming into this season. They had only 1 star, an aging player and a bunch of young, untested players (Schilens, Hill, Thompson, Reed, Streeter). I think they clearly demonstrated the danger of putting too many eggs into the unproven talent basket. I think adding one of the more obscure free agents (Amendola, Hartline) would be a smart and relatively cheap investment for the future.

These names are all too big. Cruz would be nice, but lets get real, he'll be wanting quite a lot of money. Jennings, too. We either need to pick up an undrafted rookie or just stick with what we have. I don't know how I feel dipping into WRs in the draft, especially considering how important it will be to improve our O-Line in the offseason.

Hartline, Amendola and Bowe wouldn't be too expensive, given the stinkers their teams put up this season, going for a combined
16-31-1. And Wallace has seriously hurt his stock with his lackluster season with the stalling Steelers.
