Saban..... The coach from Georgia. Mazzone, the OC from UCLA
I doubt Saban will leave Alabama. He's on a roll there (get it?)!! It's hard to predict who among the FBS' elite would be courted and who would be willing to pack their bags.

I have to admit though... Boldin & Fitz back together again... that would be pretty amazing to see in purple & black. Just saying.

And you really think Mularkey has a chance at keeping his job? He's the Billy Cundiff of coaching (Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Miami Atlanta, Tampa and Jacksonville). And sure, that could be said for about any coach, but aside from his time in Atlanta, I don't see any sparkles on his resume.
Re-united and it feels so good! Seriously, Newsome should carefully scour the FA list in the offseason for a good WR. Jones, Deonte, Doss and Reed aren't going to cut it. Boldin isn't getting any younger, either.

I take that as a compliment! I made a pretty dirty joke about CLE earlier, seek it out if you want a good laugh!

Anyway, who do you think would want to leave their respective colleges and is qualified?

Panda, I just had to laugh when you said maybe Norv could get it done on the right team. As far as I'm concerned, the Chargers were the right team. They were ultra talented when he got it from Marty, and he didn't close out. He's gotta be done as a HC at this point, but I also don't think he's the right guy for our OC job. He'd run a similar Air Coryell type style I think.

I also think AJ Smith should be done in SD because of questionable decisions over the years, like not paying VJ or McNeil, firing Marty after a 14-2 season, etc...

If Caldwell continues with the great play calling, Caldwell will be our OC next season and beyond. Speaking of Marty, you think we'll ever see him back as a Head Coach?

Doubt it. We haven't heard his name mentioned really ever since being let go by SD.

Speaking of coaching, Sean Payton is staying in New Orleans according to NFL.com and Adam Schefters FB page.
So he is one less available coach as he would have been a Free Agent if he wasn't re-signed. Guess Jerry Jones has to keep Garrett now as I'm sure Jones would have pursued Payton hard if he didn't re-sign with the Saints.

If you don't know Nevada Head Coach Chris Ault, get ready to know him. There is speculation that long time Nevada Head Coach Chris Ault could leave and jump to the NFL. He is an Offensive innovator who came up with a modified shotgun offense called "The Pistol".

NFL.com is already speculating that Ault, who coached Kaepernick in college could reunite with him in San Francisco.
Comcast SportsNet Bay Area speculated Saturday that Ault could be reunited with Kaepernick in San Francisco. Niners offensive coordinator Greg Roman traveled to Nevada three years ago to meet with Ault, who taught Roman elements of his offense that would later allow Kaepernick to thrive in the pros.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000118370/article/is-chris-ault-the-father-of-the-pistol-nfl-bound
“I have a lot left in me,” Ault said. “I’m in my offensive prime. I feel good about where I’m at. My energy level is still very high. Whether I coach again, I don’t know.”
http://profootballta...ld-head-to-nfl/

Well at the very least I can see him getting an OC job somewhere.

Source: Andy Reid has sights set on San Diego.
The Los Angeles native wants to coach the Chargers, according to a league source. Per the source, Reid is making his intentions known as he lines up a potential coaching staff — part of the “multi-level musical chairs” tournament unfolding throughout the league.
Dennis Allen could be gone.

http://nfltraderumors.co/raiders-hc-dennis-allen-one-and-done/

Ken Whisenhunt, Lovie Smith, and Jim Schwartz are likely staying put.

I would only agree with Ken staying if they fire the GM. We saw how well he can coach if the Cardinals have a QB and Whiz shouldn't be the one to take the down fall just because the GM has been horrible at picking quarterbacks.

I hope Lane Kiffin never coaches again in the NFL. He helped keep the Raiders a bottom-feeding team by going 5-15 and hi-jacked what should have been a BCSCG season for the high-powered Trojans, to boot.

I don't know, Lane Kiffin wanted Calvin Johnson while Al Davis was bent on drafting Russell. So Kiffin's failure was in part because Davis wanted Russell while Kiffin was smart enough to know that Calvin was the better choice to draft.

As Schefter says, so it begins!
So it begins: Browns coach Pat Shurmur and GM Heckart will be gone by Monday, sources tell Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Thus another coach and GM the Browns go through, once again this shows why the Browns haven't gone anywhere since they returned in 1999. They don't give their coaches or GMs time to build up a team even though they do have a solid foundation in place, at least until the new people blow this up.

The Cleveland Browns new slogan should be:

Going through Coaches, Gms and Quarterbacks since 1999!

https://www.facebook.com/AdamSchefter

The rumor is Jimmy Hasslam is going to sign NFL Network's Michael Lombardi to become the new GM and possibily get Josh McDaniels as the Head Coach of the Browns. If Lombardi and McDaniels land in Cleveland, the first thing they would do is trade for Ryan Mallett, which would mean no more Weeden and McCoy.
If Lombardi and McDaniels land in Cleveland, sources said one of their first moves could be an attempted trade for Patriots backup quarterback Ryan Mallett, whom Lombardi endorsed to Belichick before the Patriots selected him in the third round of the 2011 draft.
You sure McDaniels wouldn't bring that Tebow nonsense to Cleveland? That's one way to ensure we keep getting those 2 free wins per season.

Shurmur should be a sought after OC. He did quite well with Bradford during the one season they were together in St. Louis.

Jaguars will fire GM Gene Smith. Top candidates are Cardinals Jason Licht and 49ers Tom Gamble.

I would understand why the Jaguars want the front office guy from the 49ers but the Cardinals? He learned from Rod Graves who has been a horrible GM in recent years. He hasn't secured the Cardinals a Franchise QB and the Jaguars want someone who didn't get a Franchise QB?

Come on Khan, give me a call, I'll fix the Jaguars.

More news:

Chatter increases that the Chiefs could in fact keep Scott Pioli in as GM.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/12/30/chatter-increases-that-pioli-could-be-back-in-kansas-city/

Even if the Bills win today, they could very well do a "full house-cleaning" in Buffalo.
