If the Ravens win this game and the Steelers lose to the Chargers, they will claim the #2 seed in the AFC over the Jets due to a common opponent tiebreaker.

Though this game has potentially huge implications on the AFC playoff picture in the weeks to come, it all starts with Baltimore taking care of business at the Meadowlands first. The Ravens are in full control of their postseason fate, and though a little help is needed in order to claim sole possession of the division lead for now, the team has still done remarkably well given the circumstances coming into this season.

No matter what happens with this game, this Ravens squad has exceeded all expectations. However, this game will be arguably the make-or-break game of the season to determine whether this team can make a deep run in the playoffs this year.

And frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to see a February rematch in Tampa, should the Ravens at least give the defending Super Bowl Champions a run for their money this week.

Well, I look at this game as a turning point. Either we come out strong, play mistake free football (or less then the Giants) we can turn the page and say we are officially are in the HUNT. If we loose this game, it's very important to keep team morale high (the games only get harder). Remember it's easy when your winning but if you get a stack of L's some players loose focus. I don't think this will be the case for this years Ravens, but it has happend to other teams in the pas.t This single game can give us a common opponent advantage over Pittsburgh which really means a lot. I think if this game is won, LOOK OUT ......the Ravens will turn it up EVEN HIGHER. I really want to see a blow out WIN for the Ravens, but in reality it's likely to be a close, hard-nose, smashmouth game that comes down to the fourth quarter. Lets wear OUR PURPLE PROUD GUYS AND GALS!

Ray Lewis once said, "It's easy to praise yourself when all is going right, but I believe true character is found through adversity."

I've stood by that quote since the day I heard it, and had been preaching it all last season. People complained and blew it off -- but look at the turnaround this season.

No matter how this season ends, no one can say that this team didn't respond to adversity this season. After two close losses and a harsh blowout on the road, this team bounced back to win four straight games and are now in position to potentially make a run at the postseason. After constant criticism for being too ego-driven and selfish, this team rallied around its rookie head coach and rookie QB and are now guaranteed to post a better record than last season's 5-11.

If that isn't character, I don't know what is.

Keep with them through the air, keep the turnovers down, let the D handle the rest.

Go Ravens!!!

As happy as I am that everyone's so pumped up, I'm just really, really scared about tomorrow...

I know pretty much everyone is confident about the game, but I'm just trying to be as patient as possible -- we've already been let down three times this season, going into a game with high hopes...

I think this calls for me staying at home, enjoying the fact that this'll be only the 2nd time a Ravens game is carried by my local CBS affiliate this season (so I can watch it in HD!), locking the door, and turning off my phone...

I almost don't even want to be in this thread tomorrow neither, but I've done it pretty much every game so far, so no use in breaking that tradition NOW...

I just pray that, if things don't go as we expect, people won't get so emotional about it and say things they don't mean to say, in the heat of the moment...

...but then again, that's how that always goes.

yes, good being patient, but wouldnt be scared...i mean sure weve been let down 3 times, but the only one which almost put me to tears in was the indy game. :P I dont think the giants will give us a beating like Indy did, b/c Indy is strictly pass first, and the Giants are the other way around. I don't see any drastic loss.

I'm just envisioning ALL scenarios (win or lose) just to brace myself for whatever may happen tomorrow.

This game is setting itself up to be either an emotional high, or an emotional low.

And honestly, I'm not sure if I could handle another close loss. Not like the Steelers game, especially, even with the moral victory.

True that. But seems as if we've found a way lately to close off games...good defense, and keep the same gameplan on offense. I think the ravens learned from their previous mistakes. but i like the mentality...win or lose, keep it cool. i dont remember getting this hyped since playing the pats last year. i tried to brace myself last year, but didn't help :P oh well, hope i can keep my cool tomorrow...er, i mean, today. :D

12 hours to go. Then it will be gone in a flash. I wonder what we will talk about after this game? The amazing win, the understandable loss, or the aweless blowout. Perhpas its the refs screwing up that drives people crazy, or some freak play that blows everybodies mind. So much to happen in the length of this game.

Let's go Ravens!

Anderson said that he was undoubtedly going to play this week, what does that tell you about Mason? :( I guess that's the attitude you have to have, though.

That's what I figured. A big man like that on a sprained ankle, it wasn't going to be easy to go. That is a pretty big hit for us, considering we are playing an aggressive front seven. But the OL has been stepping up all year.

So, I managed to fall asleep at around 3AM last night, and kept waking up this morning 'cause I was anxious. Woke up at around 10AM, thinking it was noon, before I was finally able to fall back asleep and wake up at noon on the dot.

This morning was one of those rare times I wish I lived on the West Coast; then, it'd be kickoff already.

Listen man this is real simple. They claim they are the best at what they do, We know we are the best at what we do. The only way they will run the ball on us is to run striaght through us, and NOBODY runs through us. They say they are a pyshical ball club, well you don't know pyshcial until u line up and bang head with the Baltimore Ravens for 60 minutes.

Listen, they say to be the best you have to beat the best, well lets see what they say after our boys do what they do. Man, to be the BEST you have to BEAT the BEST, after we pyshically dominate this team today........What will that make US?

Lets bring it fellas

Everyone, promise me one thing.

If this game is going to be a complete blow out to the Giants favor or we lose a close one, lets not overreact and call for Troy Smith or trade this or that player because they played awful. We're playing a great team here so it's going to be difficult to come out with a victory.

Other then that... Let's enjoy!!

NOTE: 30 MPH wins at the Meadowlands. If we shut down the run then it will be very hard to pass on our defense.

Seeing Ray Lewis lead the defensive unit to the tunnel in HD just now gave me goosebumps...

Regardless of the outcome, I'm just soooo happy my local CBS affiliate is carrying this game 'cause this'll be the first one I get to see in HD all season! (The Colts game, I watched at a sports bar...and my waiter was a Colts fan...ugh)
