Go to your local dive shop and take lessons. I have been certified since age 13. I grew up boating and sailing on the Bay. You need to be a pretty good swimmer a lot of dive shops offer an intro course to see if its something you want to do. Diving NC and North is cold and required wet or dry suits where as FL not so much. I've been out if it for 20 yrs because of raising my family and a serious lack of time lol

I've only done a dive once, but I love snorkeling. There's supposedly a sunken freighter in some shallows In Honduras so the plan is to go check that out when we're there......

Oh, I know. Ive been to Roatan, Honduras a couple times (when I worked aboard ships). Gorgous. Ive just never been snorkeling there.
