my wife is from the Boston area. She laughs at this area when it "snows".

Her first winter here they had a school closing, she thought something had gone horribly wrong.
I explained to her it was because of the snow she looked at me like I had three heads.

They are pretty hard core up there in the Boston area.

I work with a couple people from Buffalo. They're amazed the way people panic in PA.

I am SO impressed with Greensburg's snow removal...not. I had one little slide on the way home from work this morning..tapped the brakes too hard at a stop light. Fortunately I wasn't going very fast.

More coming tonight.....it's supposed to start after midnight...so I should be ok getting home from work. *crossing fingers*

You will find that the Midwest, everything is "after the fact". They don't lay down salt BEFORE the ice storm, makes too much sense. And god-forbid you see a plow out before the snow stops.

Euclid's big brother is on the way!! WOO HOO!!

I hate that already.....seriously....and to get to my house I have to go up a hill and then down one...

Two to four inches they're saying. I just pray fervently that I can get home safely after work tomorrow morning. *sigh*

Uphill... both ways... in the snow?... Grandpa is that you!?!?

You beat the snow last time, perhaps you'll get lucky again. ;)

Read that again...up one hill and down the other....my house sits near the bottom of a hill. Nice in the summer since we don't have to worry about a whole lot of storm flooding but in winter the suckitude is immense.

I'm praying again that it holds off again....might not get so lucky this time. *sigh* I hate the fact that I have to drive 18 miles back and forth to work. If I had a job in town, I wouldn't freak out so much.

I'm sure 74 will be fine. If I get stuck anywhere will be in stinkin' Greensburg, no doubt.

I feel intense loathing growing. Very intense loathing.

Only 1 foot here. Up-state New Yorkers don't care.

Fixed. In NYC, we've gotten only 2 or 3 blizzards in the past 4 years. It's only snowed twice this year and only stuck once. :(

Mmmmmhm.

I figure getting up the hill will be okay as long as the vehicle doesn't have to stop for any reason. And getting down the hill on our street will be ok as long as I don't inadvertently hit any icy spots.

*sigh* loathing...utter loathing.

Sliding backwards sucks. And downhill... just keep your foot off the accelerator until you hit the bottom of the hill. ;)

I made it home okay. Spun going up Washington Street but that was my fault for starting up the hill too fast. And to get down my street, I put the car in low gear, basically tap-rode the brakes the whole way down the hill...

and then somehow slid into my parking space in front of the house.

But my friend and coworker Jackie gave me a great idea for uphill avoidance a few minutes ago. I hadn't thought of going home that way before she mentioned it. :)

Very cool thing happened this morning....a kind Greensburg citizen with a plow blade attached to his pickup truck came down our street this morning. Plowed out the middle of the street and then plowed MY side of the street all the way to the curb. Sure I was annoyed that my fiance woke me out of a nap and told me to go move the car but once I caught the jist of what this guy was doing, I was cool. I don't know where he came from...if he knew people on the block but he said the city didn't intend on plowing our street again....

A little faith restored but I still loathe!

Glad you made it home safe.

4 more inches last night. I'm sure they'll find good reason to pile it all up behind my car again. *smh*
