I think Joe is a decent quarterback, not elite but decent. I think the o-line has not been very good this year as a whole. Yanda is good and KO is getting better and playing well for a rookie, but Oher and Bobbie Williams have had a few horrible games and Birk has struggled against the really huge nose tackles. I think that plus Cam's playcalling has worked against Joe this season.

Well the biggest argument most people have with Flacco is that after 5 years he hasnt improved to that so called elite level. IMo Flacco is still a great QB, but yes after 5 years Flacco still has some things to work on like accuracy, pocket awareness, and some other things. I have always said we will never see the real Flacco come out with Cam Cameron as coordinator, through 5 years Cam babied Joe and held him back. Now that we have Jim Caldwell as coordinator he will give flacco more independence and Flacco will become 10x more comfortable and be able to fully run the offense.

He reminds me of Alex Smith in that way.

I met Torrey one time. I shook his hand. YIKES his hands were tiney.
He was like that kid from the Burger King commercial.

Again, haters, look at Flaccos ints every year.. 10, 12, 10... So on... People act like he is a turnover machine. He is efficient with the ball, has had a career year in yardage, and he IS our franchise quarterback.

I'm a huge Flacco supporter, but haters aren't going to argue his numbers are consistent year to year... it's just that those INTs and fumbles come at the most inopportune times. And I can agree with that... be it his fault entirely or not.

Honestly, I hope the guy breaks the 4,000 mark next week.

I hope Caldwell game plans to allow that to happen. That would be a great milestone for Flacco to reach.

Flacco would need to fumble twice and throw two interceptions next week to tie last year's turnover mark. Call me crazy, but I don't see that happening.

All aboard the upward trend.
he.fumbles far to much and.if he cut them out I don't think anyone could conplain much if at all.

What I don't understand is why he was moving around the pocket four or five times today to avoid the rush. That pass to Pitta was a thing of beauty.

Why wasn't he moving around like that all year? Was it gameplan not to I wonder?

Yeah, last year was an UGLY year. This year was close, but hopefully he continues to turn this around!

His pocket presence was phenomenal and he was moving around, as you stated, quite well. That redirection (with the point of the finger) and toss to Pitta was certainly nice. Never should have been thrown, ha, but definitely awesome!
he threaded it threw like here guys. He looked like Rodgers on that one play.

I can't comprehend why he hasn't been moving around like that all year, I don't understand it, was it just be confident after a good start? Was it game plan to avoid fumbles, trust in oline? Why in week 15 and not the previous 14 weeks?

It was sick, no doubt, just scared me heaving a ball into what was closing into triple coverage. Beautiful redirection and toss regardless!

Yeah, Joe CAN scramble and in fact throws quite well rolling to his right. They need to have/use some designed roll out plays!

Yea that pass shouldn't havve been thrown, but you see that from good QBs when they are in a zone. Everyone is like what a great throw and i'm like, not really. If it didn't work, you'd be bashing.

As simple as it sounds, I think it boils down to Joe's confident. When Joe gets into a rhythm, he's lights out. You see him do all the things necessary to be great. That's much like any QB. QBs are like Pitchers, when they are in a groove, their mechanics is the last thing they worry about. However when they aren't in that zone, their mechanics are all you can focus on.

When Qbs get heavy pressure and can get in that early groove mechanic wise, they tend to struggle. Go back and watch the 2009 playoff game vs the Pats. The Ravens made Brady look like Kyle Boller because they didn't allow him to get into a rhythm. He held the ball too long, didn't move feet, threw a bunch of lame duck passes and just didn't have great pocket persence. That's why Stephen A. Smith calls him a tap dancer when pressure is on.

All QBs deal with this. We just see Joe constantly and because of the offense he's played in, you often don't see Joe get into that zone early.

Clearly I was poking fun at the one that was fumbled. No excuse for a fumbled sneak.

Joe can step up into the pocket, when he has one. In the games he did poorly in I'd bet that pressure came from the inside.
