OMG I got THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER last night!!!!!

My Baltimore crew is coming west for the Cincy game on Sunday. They asked me if I could meet them there for the game (they got me a ticket without knowing for sure if I could make it or not)....sadly I have to work Sunday

BUT BUT BUT I have been told by at least three of them that they are going to stay in Cincy Sunday night and come to Greensburg for NYE!!!!!!! YAYYAYYAY My 2013 will start with a Purple Party!!!!! OMG I'm so excited I could cry!!!!

Tooch, Sasquatch, Telly, Stewie, Fat Albert, Buttercup...oh will be SO GOOD to see them...I haven't seen them since my birthday!!!

No I do not have a crush on Derek Jeter!

Here's the story behind the nickname:

Back in PA, I lived in the third floor apartment in a converted house built in 1890 (my mom was my landlady). With the old house, was easy for critters to get in the roof and find their way into my apartment. i drowned stink bugs and had to evict wasps...

Anyway, one night I was in the living room yapping away on my laptop. I kept seeing motion in my peripheral vision....after a few minutes it dawned on me that a bat had found its way into the apartment and was flying back and forth from the bedroom to the living room.

I opened the living room picture window wide, hoping it would find its way out. It didn't so I went for the broom and started trying to swat it.

Finally it landed on the smoke detector in my bedroom. There was my chance.. I whacked it with the broom and it flew into the corner behind the door (which I had closed). It smacked the wall so hard I thought I killed the poor thing.

I went out into the kitchen to try and figure out a way to get the bat out...I picked up my 4 quart glass bowl...and luckily I had a large box waiting for recycling so I cut a big piece off it.

I went back to the bedroom and it had flown off...I found it lying on the floor behind the bed. So I placed the glass bowl over it and slipped the cardboard under it...took the whole thing out to the back roof and the bat was rescued.

When I told the gang that story at the next get-together, Sasquatch was the one who (drunkenly) said, 'You did a Jeter on the poor thing' and I've been Jeter ever since.

And please do note, I like bats. I realize full well they are good creatures to have around....just not in my apartment. The thought of all the flying sharp teeth just scares me.

I had the same problem a couple years ago. I heard some scratching, then the "blob" out of the corner of my eye. I turned off the light in my bedroom, went out in the living room, and actually caught it in an open garbage bag as it left the bedroom. Still can't believe that worked after all these years.
