Has this team quit on Harbaugh?

Whether they've quit on Harbaugh or not, I have a feeling Andy Reid will be coaching in Baltimore next season.
I don't think that's going to happen. The team needs to be blown up in some areas yes, but completely blowing it up isn't the way to go. We'll be the Ravens teams circa 2007 and 2002.

Unfortunetely, we made the playoffs so Harbs won't get fired yet. Plus he'll use the injuries as an excuse.
Just have to hope Bisciotti doesn't buy that crap. He stepped in and fired Cam mid-season, so I'm guessing he's tired of Harbaugh's excuses and is upset about his team constantly disappointing him.

And Harbs has to smallow some pride and admit that when you're down that much, you don't risk the starters getting hurt.

Hope so. It's a shame, Harbaugh is a nice guy.
Bisciotti has shown he aint afraid to fire somebody.

I gotta hold out hope for something, and I think that's the only way this team is going to get better. Say what you will about him, especially his disappointing last two seasons when he hitched his wagon to Vick, but Andy Reid knows how to coach QBs. He took a worse version of Flacco to a Super Bowl, and has made guys like Kolb, Vick, and Foles look somewhat competent at the position in addition to that. Maybe getting into an organization where he doesn't have to do so much managing of the team will be good for him, since we have a strong front office.

He's not afraid to fire somebody when he knows he has no choice. He's also savvy enough to know that firing everyone after one vaguely disappointing season is not a successful long term model.

I don't think the players quit. They're just weren't collectively good enough.

I understand the frustration of some fans but why do we seemingly always have to try and find some deeper reasoning for a bad loss this season? This is a greatly flawed team on both sides of the ball that's also had to deal with a ton of key injuries. They racked up a number of wins earlier this year in games they could just as easily have lost.

In the past three games, they've essentially let two wins slip through their fingers and gotten stoned by one of the hottest team's in the league. It's been ugly. Butt ugly. But I refuse to believe with all the veterans on this club and relatively young players that have been so close to a chance at glory but come up short, they've quit at this point in the season.

That's kind of absurd, unless you're a Buddhist. The team operates as a separate entity, regardless of the outside world's actions. You think Baltimore would have won if we all would have been "raw raw we got this" prior to the game?

World doesn't work like that. Flacco was garbage today because of himself only, us saying we were in for a rough game had no bearing on his god awful INT at the 3 yard line.

If you watched the entire game it was anything but quitting. The offense never kept trying to score and the defense played hard till the very end. If the players and team quit it could have felt and looked alot worse.

Any Reid, John Gruden, and heck, even Brian Billick are all options in my book if Harbs leaves.

Most of the injuries have been on defense, but today the offense and the coaching were the problems.
The D did its best with no rest.

You have a point but we do not live, work and play in bubbles either the sound or noises around us do and always will penetrate our 'separate entities'. i do not think Cosmic is suggesting we carry the team to wins but we can support them in our own way as fans. To say we dont in any way is very narrow

Op exactly what signs did you see that guys quit? I saw a team that was overmatched and frustrated. Everytime Jacoby touched the ball hhe tried to take it to the house, that's not quitting. Pierce ran hard, Pitta fought hard, Doss gave his all, as banged up as the defense was they fought their tails off. You have 4th and 5th string guys out their fighting.

This is probably a 24-21 type game with Flacco's and the oline play. Suggs is out their playing hurt, you can call it foolish or not, but a guy that quits on his coach wouldn't play through that pain.

Most of the posters here thought the Ravens would lose that game, and once the inactive list came out, people were for certain the Ravens would get blown out, so why act surprised now.

That should have been a 10-7 game at half with the Ravens getting the ball back. You do that maybe the defense stays fired up and makes some key stops. This was a game that the Ravens needed to be near perfect to win with so many injuries and offensive struggles. After that Flacco pick 6 the air was let out of this team and the writing was basically on the wall.

I don't see this team giving up on Harbs.

This team has never been Harbaugh's. It's always been Ray Lewis and Ed Reed's team.

I still don't know what John Harbaugh brings to the table or why anyone (particularly future HoFers) would respect him as a HC or respect what he has to say. He's had the incredible luxury of inheriting a team with tremendous defensive talent and has ridden the coat tails of success. Now that the team is in seeming free-fall, we'll see what kind of coaching he can really do. A good start would be for him to stop wasting valuable 2nd half TOs with incredibly stupid challenges.

You sir are 100% correct. Could not have said it better myself.

Well I saw Cary Williams give up on that long TD. I couldn't believe he stopped running.

But then after that he was competing made a good bat down, he competed following his quit but he was still beat often by decker.

I don't feel that the front 7 gave up I just feel that they wore down eventually and Denver began to run it down our throats and the hurry up tempo meant no substitutions ( Manning & Brady are masters at that hurry up to line prevent a sub then let the clock tick down anyway ).

Offense line may not have given up they are just that pathetic against the speed rush.

Are you serious. I know it was a embrassing loss and people wanna vent, but did you seriously say Harbs would use injuries as an excuse? The guy has never once used injuries as issues, but even if he chose to this year, he'd have a legit beef.

They showed a graphic during the game where 4 of the 5posters leading tacklers on this team were injured for this game. Suggs is about 50% and the only consistent player on your Oline is injured. Plus Webb is out.

I won't make excuses for Harbs, because he makes some terrible coaching decisions imo. But to say that the guy would use injuries as an excuse as if they haven't hampered this team is crazy

He took a mediocre Tampa team to a Super Bow win, and the Raiders deep into the playoffs. This guy knows how to coach, and you can see he wants to get back down there.

Trade Harbaugh to Oakland for a first rounder and sign Gruden.

Harbaugh may not be calling plays on either side of the ball but would he really be a HC if he didn't know his Xs and Os?

Buddhist? No. I'm a metaphysical individual. And it is not absurd to think that your words and actions carry with them so form of responsibility. Perhaps another way to explain this is by asking if you've ever coached children? As a coach, I've learned kids are prone to listening to positive feedback than negative.

You take a child, surround him with a couple dozen naysayers and see how well he performs against a child surrounded by a couple dozen supporters.

It is easy to 'quit' and 'give up' on yourself, when you feel everyone has turned their backs on you already. The fans, the analysts, the critics and the media all turned their backs on the Ravens prior to them even getting on the field this week. Am I saying we are directly responsible? No. But negative energy will result in negative consequences.

You think it was hard for them to be motivated for this game? Wait until next week.
