the fact that cary gave up was disgusting .. whether or not reed missed his job cary was still in position to make a play .. which he made on the next attempt cuz they took a shot on the same exact play again later in the game .. at least joe made an attempt to make a tackle on the pick 6 you gotta fight to the end thats the raven way

I love Ed but this has probably been his worst year as a pro. However many times QBs shy away from throwing into his coverage no longer offsets the amount of tackles he misses or plays he's given up in coverage. He can still plays in coverage and even make a strong tackle occasionally but those times are few and far between. I'd hate for this to be the way he goes out (or leaves Baltimore at least) but he's clearly not going to get anything healthier and his play is becoming increasingly worse.

Part of me would love to see him soldier on after this year but for his health and legacy's sake, I hope he hangs it up after this year.

he is great at making people gameplan for him but that doesn't matter much anymore when he gets burned in the game. he can't tackle, he's always injured, and he makes bad moves. and then says he wants more money? i'm sorry but it would be great for him and for the team to hang it up this year. same for ray.

Really depressing, but Ed Reed isn't Ed Reed anymore. All of you know he has regressed, but you can make a strong argument that hes a liability. I dont think he comes back next year and we need to draft a safety even if he does come back.

It is gamesmanship and nothing more , nobody outside of a few ravens fans and uninformed fans think reed is great , he is slow , old , constantly injured , can't tackle effectively , is often out of position and thinks he deserves a raise ! Time to retire or not resigned .

No one can argue how good Ed has been throughout his career for the past decade. That much is obvious. But this year, his play has fallen off. No player can play at an elite level forever. There comes a time to hang it up, and I hope he hangs it up after this season.

And Ed blew a coverage that led to a Eric Decker's TD. He didnt play great today either.

We dont know what he was supposed to do on that play, his job may have been to do exactly what he did. What we do know is that that was Carys man and he stopped running.

Even if Ed was out of place by trying to jump the route you still have to put the blame on Cary. It wasnt zone it was man to man, and as a corner playing man you CAN'T stop running with the WR no matter if you have safety help or not. Thats why Ed was so mad, Cary just stopped running.

I'm a true blue Ed Reed fan. No doubt he is playing hurt and that speaks volumes about his heart. If he said his poor play was due to effects from the flu, I'll take his word for it. I've watched Noshon Moreno leap over Ed over and over again on tape and Ed would have blown up Noshon in prior years. Like everyone else on the team, its time for Ed to put up or shut up. His effort on that play was lacking due to something.

This is one time I won't blame Reed.

Sometimes, and fans don't like to admit it, but sometimes the other player just makes a good play. Moreno made a good play. Not much you can do about it.
