Would have never had that kind of game with Cam as OC. Joe needed to get away from Cam and now he sure looks like a better QB with Cam gone. Like others have said, now with Cam gone, can he stop the inconsistency and be consistent every game?

The shift in the gameplan was nice to see, and it was good to see some execution by the offense...even though Oher still manages to commit stupid stupid penalties. I'm also feling the Cam stink is being scrubbed off a bit. So, it appears with protection, and creative playcalling Joe can be successful. Who knew?

I'm not gonna jump the gun and say that Joe can hoist the Lombardi this year, but that was quite a showing. He still showed traces of himself last week (some overthrows here and there) but overall he seemed to improve. He looked like he had more pocket awareness and he made better decisions. (The O-line and the playcalling helped.) Until next week Cincy, I can't make a clean judgement. Flacco 2.0 has yet to play on the road.

I think tonight was a perfect game to dispay just how good Flacco is. You see him play great against a very stingy defense and finish with a ton of yards and 3 scores. But you also see the fact that he has somethings to work on mechanically--he still over throws and gets in front of or behind receivers sometimes, still makes some gutsy throws. But all in all I think Flacco is a good QB who could get us to the superbowl. He got us to the superbowl last year--he made a perfect throw that was caught but not secured. Obviously we didnt go there but a lot of people forget about that pass it was perfect right literally in Lee Evan's hands but he didnt secure it, so pretty much Flacco did get us the superbowl last year he did everything that was asked of him and then some but it was Lee Evans who could secure a perfectly thrown ball. :gaah:

Well, he can. He definitely can.

Will he? Probably not. But if this team plays like this the rest of the year, nobody beats us. Point blank.

If Joe can play half as well as he played today every week, than he's worth the money. He was incredible today, fitting throws into tight windows. If you noticed, when he has short routes that he can get a quick release off he's much more accurate. When he's only chucking bombs down the field on 3rd and 8, he's not. That's how it is with every QB though, and Cam constantly put him in bad situations. If today was any indication of how Caldwell will call the rest of the season, and if that's how Flacco wants to play through the rest of the season, maybe the Ravens aren't out of it after it.

Regardless, games like this are what keeps the FO's faith in Flacco.

good point. giants are a championship caliber team who was said to be "the NFL superpower" at the beginning of the season, and we embarrassed them. no reason to believe Joe can't execute like that and make a deep playoff run, I just don't believe he will.

as much as I want to agree with you ( and I REALLY want to agree with you ) Todays Joe Flacco looked a lot like week one Joe Flacco. Which was Cam.
That said, pretty much since then has varied between a ugly mess and well thats kind of a mess, but it works.

Either way, Cam is gone, Cladwell is here and things are looking better.

Jim Cadwell designed the gameplan for that week 1 game :)

Agree with that statement. Any QB will look like championship caliber material if you give him a few underneath routes with speedy receivers to lift the coverage off a bit and a check down out of the backfield.

I loved to see the slant routes today. You know Caldwell brought that "Indy" gameplan today and it worked well with our personnel. I want to see this play calling all the way into February.

Gotta admit Flacco looked good today and great at times. If he is not turning the football over he is a beast. However the Run game was in beast mode today.

Beast mode= [on] or off

Nothing pathetic about Vick? What about losing his job to Foles? That's just the most recent example.

They move in the pocket. They can move outside the pocket. But all three stay in the pocket when possible. They aren't scramblers by my definition.

You can question my credibility all you want... Just remember who said Vick isn't a pathetic QB...
Vick has never been pathetic that role is reserved for the Leinart's of the world, Are you kidding me right now?

Looking at the play-by-play for offense in that first Cincinatti game...we kicked a field goal on our first possession. Second possession there were a few incomplete passes, Joe fumbled which was recovered by Boldin, and eventually Rice ran it in for a TD from the 7. 3rd possession deep ball to Boldin for a TD. 4th possesion, we punted. 5th possession, end the half by taking a knee. Score was 17-10.

1st possession of 3rd qtr was filled with some penalties and incompletions but ended in a TD to Pitta. Next possession, field goal. 4th qtr, great field possession off a Webb fumble recovery and then dpi penalty, rice runs for 1 yard td. Next possession a punt. We also had a pic six by Reed in that qtr. So our score was 41, we eventually kicked a FG to get to 44 pts.

In this game the offense was much more consistent it seemed, even with the penalties. We had long drives and were able to win the field position battle and score even without turnovers by the other team. This to me was the best the TEAM has played all season. Everyone had a hand in this win

Just wanted to clarify your comment about the fumble recovered by Boldin: it was a fumble on a handoff, which is always credited to the quarterback. That particular instance looked more like Boldin bobbled it right after the handoff, to me.

Thanks. I was just posting the recap to prove that we seemed to play cleaner against the Giants than in week 1. Despite the high scoring effort, we dominated the Giants without getting a single turnover from them

Your points are true for basically every non-elite QB. Yes, even Ben, as we saw earlier this year when PIT was losing to the likes of Oakland.
That is why we are not in the playoffs...period

There are 3 areas I would like to see Flacco improve:
Accuracy on mid range throws
Pocket awareness and understanding defenses to exploit them
CONSISTENCY - be good consistently and get your contract or be bad consistently so we know to move on....right now he is awesome one day and flops badly the next.

Yes! Flacco has cost us three games in a row with his costly turnovers. He should be playing his best ball coming down the stretch and he is not. Flacco has also lost the confidence of his teammates. All except Pitta no doubt.

Why wont our coach play Tyrod even in a blowout.
Well he did against the bengals. Did you see that one.

Flacco has had 2 bad Games this yr. BRONCOS and TEXANS. Thats it, Those Fumbles he had were in no way his Fault, Its was OHER's.
And i dont want to hear that he needs to get rid of the ball Faster because the ball just got hiked both times.

Also, the DEFENSE Played Horrid against the TEXANS so it wasn't all on him. The D lost us the REDSKINS Game. Also lets not forget the D.Reed Fumble recovery that was overturned in that game. Can you say B.S.

i'm not gonna lie....i must admit that Joe is sloooooooooooooooowly growing on me! and i do mean slooooooooooowly! i'm not all the way there with this cat yet but i do like what i have seen from him in the giants and recent colts game. and...i was watching 1 Winning Drive a few hrs ago and noticed that Joe was on the sideline pumping up the o-line and receivers and telling them; "let's go kick their @$$." my wife and i both looked at each other and said; "whaaaaaaaat? is that Joe Flaccooooooo?" and then we broke out laughing. :D it was good to see. so....let's go Joe! beat the broncos! go Ravens!
